Would Recommend?yesI would recommend Del Tech for a career in culinary. I would tell people to be sure that it is what they truly want to do because the field is very challenging and stressful.
Program Reputation9The program at Del Tech was respected, only because of the chefs that taught the program. They were known for being extremely thorough.
Program Quality9Del Tech's culinary program is very thorough. The classes are taught by experienced chefs.
Instruction10Everything I learned in the culinary program was information and skills that I utilized in the actual field. Everything I learned was relevant and used on the job.
How Difficult7There is a lot to learn in the culinary field. There are tests that are pass or fail - there is no way of cheating because it is up to the individual to perform well and make perfection on a plate.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe culinary program is half book smarts and hands on talent. You needed to actually be able to produce something in the kitchen. So it was a balance between books and hands on.
Schedule Flexibility5It was as strict as any program would be. It did have flexibility because of the day time and night time class schedules.
Academic Facilities8Everything I needed was available. The library had every book needed. The faculty was very helpful with the right directions for the students.
Social Life6It had a great set of athletic program and an available gym. I played soccer for one season, but the culinary program and sports was too much to manage. So I just went to the gym to work out.
Placement Services5The school did not place you in a job, but it did place you in a great network to find a job. It was not hard to find a job once you were in the network of people.
Alumni Network7The alumni network was a great set of references. The chefs could provide references for jobs, or provide you with great opportunities for work because they were connected in all of the tri-state area.

Would Recommend?yesI feel that the school is more than adequate and has some of the best instructors you could find in the area. If I had to do it all over again, I would.
Program Reputation10I have never heard anything negative about the Culinary Arts program. I've only heard positive reviews.
Program Quality8I feel that my school has an excellent program. I learned a lot during my two years.
Instruction10I really enjoyed all of the instructors I had in this degree program. They were thoughtful, and did not mind repeating instructions.
How Difficult7This was difficult because of the time actually spent in classes, and the amount of assignments. Lab classes had fewer assignments, while lecture classes seemed to have more.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe lab classes were definitely hands on, while the lecture classes were more book-based. I enjoyed them both.
Schedule Flexibility7There was a lot of flexibility in picking classes and class schedules. I wish that more of the Culinary Arts lecture classes had been online.
Academic Facilities10I really enjoyed all of the academic facilities and resources I used. I especially enjoyed our professional kitchen and feel that it was of the best quality possible.
Social LifeI did not spend a lot of time at social activities, as I had a very heavy class load and did not have time. The few social activities I did attend were good though.
Placement ServicesI never used the job placement services, so I feel I am not qualified to rate them. I am sure that they are more than adequate.
Alumni Network5I feel that the alumni support is average. The college is always there for you if you need it, but I have not had much contact with them in recent months.
