Would Recommend?noI received an excellent education, but poor career advice. I love my job, but my school did not prepare me for it.
Program Reputation9My institution has a wonderful reputation. I am not aware of any major or program that is not known to be excellent.
Program Quality10I was constantly intellectually stimulated. My professors were excellent. Zero complaints.
Instruction8Excellent instruction was provided. A little was left to be desired in terms of career preparation.
How Difficult10I had to work very hard in school. The courses were fast paced and very demanding in terms of work, time, and dedication.
Hands-On vs. BookishI took very few courses that were hands on. The focus was absolutely on read material.
Schedule Flexibility7Summer course offerings were excellent. Online and weekend courses were basically nonexistent.
Academic Facilities10There were more libraries than I could ever use. Excellent access to professors, but poor tutoring opportunities existed.
Social Life10There was something for everyone. The Greek scene was highly influential, but very welcoming and flexible.
Placement ServicesI don't believe career placement services exist. If they do, I did not use them.
Alumni NetworkI believe my alumni network is excellent. However, I do not utilize it at all.

Would Recommend?yesI would recommend the Culinary Arts program at SRVTC to anyone interested in a career in the field. The facility, the staff and the curriculum are top notch and the number of connections a student can make in terms of career placement are endless.
Program Reputation10The Culinary Arts program at SRVTC is the only local program of its kind so interest in it is high. The reputation for training successful chefs is known through out the area.
Program Quality9SRVTC offered and excellent Culinary program. The facility was amazing with a fully functioning kitchen and restaurant.
Instruction10The instructor for the program had worked at some of the most prestigious restaurants in the Upper Valley. The curriculum was thorough and every course was covered from breakfast to dessert.
How Difficult7The level of work for the course was designed to prepare the up and coming chefs for the real world. As a student I experienced the real life stress that can come from the work load and time restraints of working in the field.
Hands-On vs. BookishCulinary Arts is almost all hands on. As a culinary students you are always prepping, cooking, cleaning and eating. Books were used in class to reference recipes and techniques.
Schedule Flexibility1The class schedule is not flexible at all. The classes are Monday through Friday days and the restaurant has set hours of operation. The restaurant offers catering services and some of the events that are catered are in the evenings.
Academic Facilities10The school's academic facilities more than meet the needs of the program. The kitchen offers the same state of the art appliances as a private or chain restaurant would. Classroom instruction is given in the semi-formal dining room and there are plenty of learning tools available like computers, books and even tutors.
Social Life10The social experience at SRVTC is first rate. I made many friends and career connections by attending class there. I also met many respected people from the community by working the functions.
Placement Services10SRVTC offers help with job placement and the program prepares students for the hiring process. A list of local restaurants that are hiring is posted in the classroom and the instructor has connections at each one.
Alumni Network10The SRVTC staff offers a lot of support and their alumni network is on top of their game. Within a month of graduation I began to receive newsletters from the alumni association.
