Would Recommend?yesGreat school with a good program in a field I love. What more can you ask for? I would recommend Clemson to any foodie.
Program Reputation9My understanding is that its one of the best in the nation. When traveling and speaking to food scientists, they know of the Clemson program.
Program Quality9Clemson's food science program prepared me very well for the workplace. The teachers and classes were top notch.
Instruction9There were classes that prepared you for the work place. Teachers also shared their experiences in the workplace.
How Difficult10People assumed Food Science was an easy subject. Not true. It requires enough Chemistry to receive a minor at Clemson University. In addition their was microbiology, food chemistry, and food biology.
Hands-On vs. BookishA good mix of hands on and book learning. There were some classes that were very by the book while others involved in the field training.
Schedule Flexibility6The classes were often only offered in either the spring or fall. This made it tough to graduate on time.
Academic Facilities7I had all the equipment my program needed. However, the labs were older and a little small.
Social Life10Clemson is known for its great social atmosphere. It was great and I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else.
Placement Services6I think they are around but I haven't taken advantage of them. They aren't readily available.
Alumni Network7I haven't personally been in touch with alumni support. However, I have heard other classmates have.
