Studying Computer Networking (completion in 2009)

"My college was a solid choice given my options for education. My college was super affordable as I did not have to pay for anything while attending."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | It was solid in the fields I needed my education for based on the timeframes specified. My community college was super for cost as college at this phase is very unaffordable for higher level schools. As long as we get educated I feel as long as it is solid learning, it does not matter where said student goes. |
| Program Reputation | 6 | Reputation is average because the majority of people go into the health field at my college. |
| Program Quality | 5 | The curriculum was straightforward and not very hard. It is a community college so I did not expect much. |
| Instruction | 6 | The instructors were knowledgeable as I had 2 primaries who focused on the computer labs. The instructors had various certificates with CISCO and had done well in networking. |
| How Difficult | 5 | The courses were easy as most were basic classes leading to the Associate's degree path. Workload was not bad as I had plenty of time as I was laid off on Federal TRAA program to finish. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | It was a mixture with online and lab courses. I had to attend the lab courses at the campus as I only live 7 miles from my college. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 8 | A lot of flexibility was offered as I had choices to take classes online. Fasttrack classes can be done anytime at home at the student's own pace. |
| Academic Facilities | 7 | The academic support was there if I needed it but I was mostly online so I used online resources. I never used campus facilities as I was self motivated and I find everything I need online. |
| Social Life | 4 | I stayed to myself and did not participate in activities. I have other things to tend to outside of college life. I simply wanted to get in and get out. |
| Placement Services | 2 | They provided career assistance but it was of no use unless I wanted to move to another state. Placement was based on GPA and what was available at the time. |
| Alumni Network | 5 | I did not use a lot of the network, I worked at my own pace to accomplish tasks. Support was available if I needed it but I am self motivated and most of my courses were online at points. |
