Would Recommend?yesIn fact, I already have. GWU is an excellent place to learn the theory and practice of education. The professors made it this way.
Program Reputation8Excellent reputation in DC community. Definitely a degree that carries some weight during an interview.
Program Quality10Rigorous coursework. Incredibly thought provoking professors and classes. Excellent location with internships in DCPS.
Instruction10Professors used techniques that were intended for use in elementary and secondary classes.
How Difficult10Very rigorous due to strict deadlines and complexity of questions. No yes or no questioning. Professors were always asking WHY.
Hands-On vs. BookishPretty much 50/50. There was a required internship that maybe made it a little more hands on.
Schedule Flexibility1One could only miss three classes in a given semester. All absences had to be excused.
Academic Facilities10Many brand new buildings. All old buildings had been rehabbed. Technology in every classroom.
Social Life10All of my fellow students were really interested in finding time to have a good time. Sometimes we had too good of a time.
Placement Services8I was aided in finding a job within the first week of my last semester. I had the job secured when I graduated.
Alumni Network5I really haven't been out long enough to comment on this. So far, it seems pretty good.
