Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | Due primarily to the quality of the teachers that I had, I would recommend this school. They were able to really relate and had real-world experience that I think is so important to those about to start working in social work. |
| Program Reputation | 5 | My school was not known in particular for their social work program, except that they had a partnership with ASU to complete the bachelor's program. However, in all fairness, I don't know many schools that are known for their social work programs. |
| Program Quality | 8 | I enjoyed my school years and felt that they covered all of the topics I was interested in. I also felt that there were many staff members I could talk to about social work and what it really looked like in the working world. |
| Instruction | 10 | My teachers were always more than willing to answer any questions that I had. I also felt that the assignments were tailored to ensure that we knew what we were getting into, particularly the stress that we would face. |
| How Difficult | 5 | I rarely find anything too challenging and this was no different. The coursework was just typical research projects that I tend to enjoy. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | It seemed that although the teachers would provide real-world examples, most of our assignments were reading and book related. We didn't do a lot out in the field. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | I was working at the time that I attended school, and I was still able to complete it in the appropriate amount of time. I felt like I could always find a class at the time I needed it. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | Overall, Glendale Community College was a good school to go to for their resources. I was always able to find what I needed and get help from those who could help me. |
| Social Life | Since I was working at the time of my schooling, I was not utilizing it as a social experience. | |
| Placement Services | Although the teachers were more than happy to answer questions in regard to real-life experiences, I already had a job at the time I attended, so I did not utilize these services. I am actually not sure if these were even available. | |
| Alumni Network | I have never utilized the alumni network, so I'm not sure how they are. I don't think I have even been contacted by them since graduation. |
