Would Recommend?yesI would recommend the school because of the caliber of the program content. Also, I recommend them for the faculty support.
Program Reputation6The school's reputation is not awful, but it is not renown for it's school of social work. There are other schools in the same UNC system that have better reputations and prestige.
Program Quality8I feel that I would have liked the school to provide more clinical courses. I would have benefited from more clinical experiences.
Instruction8My field practicum experiences were phenomenal. All of the courses that I have taken equipped me with the knowledge I needed to provide competent social work services.
How Difficult6I believe that the work load was sufficient. I do believe that I could have been challenged more in regards to learning more specific information in children and family services.
Hands-On vs. BookishI completed two practicum experiences which were wonderful hands on experiences. I was required to read, complete presentations on theory and also write papers based on the readings.
Schedule Flexibility9All of my classes were held at night, which was great. I would have liked if there were online classes.
Academic Facilities9Our program had its own computer lab in the building. I was able to contact my advisor when needed and even had access to the department chair.
Social LifeI was a non-traditional student. I did not participate or know of many student activities.
Placement ServicesI have never utilized career services at my school. I did not need these services.
Alumni Network9They attempt to contact program graduates yearly. I have served the university in contacting classmates I graduated with for the university to contribute to the scholarship fund.
