"I was very satisfied with my school. The faculty and social life were excellent."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeI came into college with a strong design background. I would not recommend my school's fashion program to a beginner, as they simply do not have the proper facilities.
Program Reputation5My school has an excellent reputation, which draws attention to the program. However, fashion programs at other schools are higher rated.
Program Quality5The instruction was superb. However, my school lacked proper facilities and tools.
Instruction10I was taught by industry professionals. We also had many guests speakers from the fashion industry.
How Difficult7Lower level courses were not difficult. However, classes and projects became more difficult as expectations grew.
Hands-On vs. BookishWe were very hands-on. Even though textbooks were often required, we rarely used them. They were only used for reference and on an as-needed basis.
Schedule Flexibility6Schedule flexibility depends on the program. For the fashion program, there were no online or weekend courses, and very few evening courses.
Academic Facilities4Although my school had many of these facilities available to other programs, the fashion program was not as fortunate. We had very few sewing machines and dress forms available.
Social Life10The social life at Howard is excellent. My school often hosted mixers, discussion forums, and movie nights for students.
Placement Services5Assistance is just okay. Students really have to seek the assistance, and it's usually work that can be done without the help of the faculty.
Alumni Network10It is easy to contact alum. They are consistently doing what they can to help students.
