"My educational experience at UB was challenging and rewarding. It has helped me achieve many of my life goals."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesUB has a top-notch accounting program and is far less expensive than many other area schools that offer the same program. Also, the campus experience at UB provides a better setting for preparation for real-world work experience.
Program Reputation9I believe that UB develops very strong accounting job candidates, and therefore holds a good reputation in the program. The courses are challenging, and many who start in the accounting program of the business administration major find it too difficult and change concentrations.
Program Quality10My school prepared me very well for my career choice. The faculty was excellent and I learned what I needed to be successful in accounting.
Instruction10Most instructors at my school were excellent and had a lot of real-world experience in their concentration. They were friendly and offered a great deal of direction.
How Difficult8Accounting is very technical, and it requires a close attention to detail. It also requires strong analytical thinking, and people skills.
Hands-On vs. BookishA combination of text and project-based tasks were used in almost all classes. There was a wide variety of learning experiences with a great mix of content.
Schedule Flexibility5The accounting concentration at UB is not an extremely large group of students, so class offerings are not very flexible. They are generally limited due to lack of high demand.
Academic Facilities10My professors were extremely accessible and posted office hours each week where they could be reached. Libraries and other classroom resources were excellent.
Social Life7I believe I am less social than the average person, but UB offered many great experiences. There was never a shortage of social events.
Placement Services10Area recruiters visit campus to interview potential job candidates. Also, UB has a dedicated career resource center that offers job placement help to students.
Alumni NetworkI cannot fairly say whether the alumni network and support are strong or not, because I am not very active in it. It may very well be excellent, but I have not taken advantage of it.
Review your current or past school and help others make better career decisions.
