"My educational experience at UB was challenging and rewarding. It has helped me achieve many of my life goals."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | UB has a top-notch accounting program and is far less expensive than many other area schools that offer the same program. Also, the campus experience at UB provides a better setting for preparation for real-world work experience. |
| Program Reputation | 9 | I believe that UB develops very strong accounting job candidates, and therefore holds a good reputation in the program. The courses are challenging, and many who start in the accounting program of the business administration major find it too difficult and change concentrations. |
| Program Quality | 10 | My school prepared me very well for my career choice. The faculty was excellent and I learned what I needed to be successful in accounting. |
| Instruction | 10 | Most instructors at my school were excellent and had a lot of real-world experience in their concentration. They were friendly and offered a great deal of direction. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Accounting is very technical, and it requires a close attention to detail. It also requires strong analytical thinking, and people skills. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | A combination of text and project-based tasks were used in almost all classes. There was a wide variety of learning experiences with a great mix of content. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 5 | The accounting concentration at UB is not an extremely large group of students, so class offerings are not very flexible. They are generally limited due to lack of high demand. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | My professors were extremely accessible and posted office hours each week where they could be reached. Libraries and other classroom resources were excellent. |
| Social Life | 7 | I believe I am less social than the average person, but UB offered many great experiences. There was never a shortage of social events. |
| Placement Services | 10 | Area recruiters visit campus to interview potential job candidates. Also, UB has a dedicated career resource center that offers job placement help to students. |
| Alumni Network | I cannot fairly say whether the alumni network and support are strong or not, because I am not very active in it. It may very well be excellent, but I have not taken advantage of it. |
