Would Recommend?maybeI would recommend my school and program to someone who would like to get their core requirements taken care of before transferring to a 4-year university or an advanced degree program, IF they were already living in Hawaii. I would not recommend the school if they did not live in Hawaii.
Program Reputation5I really don't know about the school's reputation of my program. I do know that they have a good reputation for several of their other programs.
Program Quality5It was very hard going back to school at a community college after already working in the marketing field. I really liked most of the teachers and the learning experience, however, the younger and less mature students were hard to deal with at times. I eventually learned to schedule classes that were mostly at night or on weekends so that I was grouped with other working adults like myself.
Instruction8Most of the class instructors were excellent. A lot of them created and handed out their own material, rather than relying on expensive textbooks. You could really tell most of them were passionate about teaching.
How Difficult4It was rather easy. Much easier than a 4-year program, I think. Plus the teachers made classes interesting and the material understandable.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere were some classes that were very hands-on. There were others that relied heavily on books alone.
Schedule Flexibility8There were several time slots for the classes I was interested in taking. I was always able to take night and weekend classes if needed.
Academic Facilities5It was just a community college. Computer labs were adequate. I relied mostly on the large university library if necessary.
Social Life3As a community college, there was no dorm life and very little on-campus activity that was designed just for students. The campus had a lot of activities that were open to the public though, and the open layout promoted student socialization.
Placement ServicesI never took advantage of the job placement services. I cannot comment on this as it does not apply to me.
Alumni Network1I have never been contacted or received support from the school as an alum. It took me several years just to receive a copy of my diploma after graduating.
