"I think that overall I got a decent education at a very low price. Comparing value for price I think it was a good deal."

Would Recommend?maybeI would recommend it for someone who is self-motivated and likes to work independently. If you need lots of instruction it may not work out for you.
Program Reputation4I think the reputation is probably a little less than the actual quality. This is a new program that only began in 2007 so a lot of people haven't even heard of it.
Program Quality6We had great teachers who really cared. However I think it was not as intensive as other schools' programs.
Instruction6I received decent training in this program but it could have been better. Career preparation and intensity of the curriculum are two weak spots.
How Difficult5We had fewer credit hours required than other programs, with only 43 hours needed for the degree. Some of the classes were challenging but a lot of them weren't.
Hands-On vs. BookishIt was pretty hands on. Most of my classes didn't even have books.
Schedule Flexibility2Class schedules were not very flexible at all. There were only a couple of teachers in the program and most classes offered only once per year.
Academic Facilities7We had a great computer lab with Macintosh computers. The advisers were always available any time and they wanted to help you however they could.
Social Life6There were a lot of organizations and activities like Art League and Graphic Design Club. I was less social than I could have been just because I'm shy.
Placement Services2They didn't really give me anything in relation to job placement. I was just lucky they had an opening at the university and I applied for it. We were pretty much on our own with finding a job though.
Alumni Network9NSU has an excellent alumni network. It is a smaller university so it's easy to stay in touch too.

"I am satisfied with the school in terms of obtaining a legitimate degree and making friends. I would have liked more hands on and homework to better understand certain aspects of the programs, though. The cost was very reasonable, however."

Would Recommend?yesIn terms of cost-effectiveness, this school can't be beat. They are also located close to my house and offer flexibility in class times. I also made friends in my classes and feel like I have a support network.
Program Reputation8The school may not have the best reputation for the program; however, it is legitimate. Many of the schools offer certificate programs, but they don't do you any good when you seek a job and put your obtained certificate.
Program Quality8The program has a lot of good information related to graphic design skills, and it was exciting to learn. The downside was the lack of hands-on work, and when I got the job I have with my degree, I still had a lot to learn.
Instruction7I learned the basics and how to use such programs as Photoshop and CorelDraw, but not enough. I wish we had had more design experience and hands-on programs.
How Difficult6The classes were not difficult to pass if you studied. The downside was the lack of hands-on experience. The professors, however, were very helpful and gave you the basic set of tools you need to succeed.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe program was not as hands on as it needed to be. Many of the skills I now know, I had to pick up on the job. It was mostly book learning and watching the professor show you how to complete certain tasks in the programs.
Schedule Flexibility9What I enjoyed most about the school was the flexibility. They offer classes in the mornings and evenings, so even with a work schedule, you have flexibility.
Academic Facilities7The school has small availability of tutors, good accessibility of professors, and good classroom space. The rooms are small enough for a close and connected feeling, yet big enough to accommodate students and their needs.
Social Life6The school did not offer as many opportunities to meet others as I had hoped; however, they had pizza socials and such things. I made some friends in my classes.
Placement ServicesHaving recently graduated, I have not used this service yet. However, the university does offer job placement through recommendations and talking to alumni and professors who have worked or work in the field.
Alumni Network9Having recently graduated, I am not that familiar with the alumni network or support. However, the university says it sends out alumni newsletters. You also have the opportunity to get job references through the alumni network and meet others who may be in your field, and certain job placement assistance is available.
