Would Recommend?yesU of A Fort Smith is a great school and is only getting better. The campus is constantly expanding and growing by leaps and bounds. I often think of taking a few classes just to better myself and continue to grow and learn.
Program Reputation6I would assume that the reputation is good, as I have never heard of anything negative nor positive from the community in which I live. Also, I have never heard that U of A Fayetteville is any worse or better than my school.
Program Quality8The program was challenging but not to the point that I wanted to drop out. I love my school and the program that I went through and I would do it again in a heart beat.
Instruction8During my four years at UOFA Fort Smith I was always working toward my goals. I could always talk to professors after class or get additional help on any subject that I felt I couldn't quite grasp.
How Difficult7The classes were weighted perfectly. I did have to study into the late night hours after my kids had went to sleep. I would have to say that you had to be determined individual to finish any four year degree.
Hands-On vs. BookishI did learn that I am a free thinker during my four year program at U of A Fort Smith. I did a lot of my own research outside of class and at home.
Schedule Flexibility7It was very flexible. I did take a few online courses where I basically self taught myself, and this did free up my schedule with my kids so I could be at home and not have to get a babysitter. And the courses worked out for my schedule in the mornings so I could work during evenings and keep food on my table.
Academic Facilities8I loved the lab time and tutor access. The best feature was the library access where a few of us would meet to discuss class work and prepare for tests. The computer labs were provided but I didn't access them since I was fortunate to have a home computer to do my research.
Social Life5I wasn't much of socialite since I was a single mother of 2. I did attend a few of the functions on campus, like the plays and monologues some of my friends were part of.
Placement Services4After graduation I wish that they had a mandatory meeting on possible job placement for my degree. After they give you the "walking papers" you are pretty much on your own. I would have loved to have a job lined up and ready to go in my field.
Alumni Network7I receive offers from the school to attend meetings and gatherings from time to time in the mail. I also have had no problem calling and asking questions regarding my degree since I left, ex. getting my transcripts for possible job interviews.
Review your current or past school and help others make better career decisions.
