Would Recommend?noThe instructors who I know and loved are no longer there. I am honestly not even sure if the school is still in operation.
Program Reputation5I don't hear too much about them now. Shortly after I graduated all of the instructors I had moved to another school.
Program Quality5Most of what I learned came from after I graduated. When I got to my first job there were tons of things I was afraid to do that I hadn't been prepared for at school.
Instruction10My instructors were great, but I didn't learn all that I could have because of the customers. They were very specific on who they would allow to do their hair.
How Difficult3It was pretty easy considering that I walked out with only what I knew already. When I started I had already studied an old cosmetology book, to see what I was getting into.
Hands-On vs. BookishAfter the first few weeks most of our studies were on actual customers. There's very little book work after you're familiar with the basics.
Schedule Flexibility8It was pretty flexible. I was able to choose night or evening classes. In extreme situations I was able to split the day.
Academic Facilities5We didn't have much in terms of facilities. Any extra help, or study groups had to be formed on our own.
Social Life10I met a lot of really nice people, some of whom I am still in touch with.
Placement Services1It is up to you to find a job, there's very little assistance provided.
Alumni Network1I don't think this is something that exists with this type of school. We don't have any functions once we receive our licensing.

Instruction7I was very prepared for my future job very well. I really am happy now.
How Difficult7It was easy to handle and I really am happy with the world now and my new career as a hairdresser.
Hands-On vs. BookishIt was a good mix of hands on and book learning. I really liked it a lot.
Schedule Flexibility8It had great flexibility with my schedule. I was able to attend every class.

Would Recommend?maybeThe reason why I said maybe is because there are a lot of other beauty schools that offer different options. But overall, yes, I would recommend PJ's because I enjoyed it so much.
Program Reputation6The school had an ok reputation for the program, but it really depended on how YOU felt, and I felt that the school had a good reputation.
Program Quality10All instructors were right on point and they are the reason for the knowledge I have. The students were also helpful in helping me learn new techniques and different hair tricks.
Instruction10My main instructor really knew her stuff. She's been in the business for over 15 years and I could tell.
How Difficult6I'm going to rate it a little bit above average. The book work was a little difficult. The hair part was the easiest because I came into the program already doing hair for a living.
Hands-On vs. BookishPJ's offered a mix. We did our book work in the morning and toward the afternoon we worked on clients and our mannequin heads.
Schedule Flexibility5It was average because Saturdays were required, although we did close earlier on Saturdays. This school was open through entire summer.
Academic Facilities10PJ's had every resource we needed to complete book work and pass our state finals. Classroom space was great.
Social Life5PJ's was not a school for school sprit, but we did have lots of parties. The parties were birthday parties, of course, and involved all of us pitching in for food, which was fun.
Placement Services10The school's job placement help was great. It helped a lot of us students out who could not find jobs as quickly as others.
Alumni Network10All the students that were there had good jobs after attending the school.

Would Recommend?yesThey allowed you to make payments on your tuition. You got a degree quickly so you could start making money sooner than a four year degree.
Program Reputation8The school has a good reputation for customer satisfaction. The school also has a good reputation for its graduates being knowledgeable in their field.
Program Quality8They taught exactly what needed to be taught. They gave you the skills for a great career.
Instruction8You were given clear and precise information. The teachers were very knowledgeable in the field.
How Difficult6The classroom work was a lot of information to memorize. The hands on work was fun, but a lot harder to understand.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe majority of the work was waiting on clients. There was only about 2 hours of classroom study a day.
Schedule Flexibility1They only have classes during the day and on Saturday mornings. They have no evening classes.
Academic Facilities7They always had all of the supplies needed to complete your work. They provided you with the products you needed to complete your work.
Social Life8The teachers were always friendly. The other students were very similar to me. Most students were a little younger, but we all still got along.
Placement Services1There are no job placement services. After you graduate, you get no support.
Alumni Network1There is no alumni support. When you are finished, there are no services available to you.
