Would Recommend?noThere are several other options for schools around this area. I'd suggest someone go to one of them. One that has teachers with experience.
Program Reputation5It's had its ups and downs. Been through several instructors over the last 10 years.
Program Quality4School needed to be updated. They didn't do enough theory classes.
Instruction4The instructors were poor. Very little actual teaching in class.
How Difficult3Overall it was pretty easy. I was able to study my book and for my exam on my own. And the practical stuff comes easy to me.
Hands-On vs. BookishDefinitely more hands-on than book. We rarely went through the book in class.
Schedule Flexibility3At the time I went, they did not offer night classes. Class was 8am-4:40pm Monday-Friday. Would be hard for someone with a full-time job to take classes there while working.
Academic Facilities4Classroom space was small. The classrooms were outdated and broken down. The "salon" part was also very outdated.
Social LifeThey didn't offer those things in the Cosmetology course.
Placement Services8The school was definitely good at that. Pittsburg has several hair salons, and the school worked with the local owners to place the students.
Alumni NetworkI've never looked into it, to be honest. Didn't have a need to get involved with them since graduation.
