"I was very pleased with the school of my choice and attribute my success in my profession directly to my attendance there and my wonderful and insightful instructors. If given the choice again, I would still attend this school."

Would Recommend?yesThis school does seem to care about the quality of the graduates it sends out into the world, not just the quantity. And even though the instructors I trained under are gone, the school still cares about its students. And I feel confident that if a problem arose, the faculty at this school would listen to the issue and would come to an intelligent and fair conclusion for all concerned.
Program Reputation7Sad to say, the instructor I trained under has passed away. I hear that new and younger instructors have taken over and they do not expect the dedication the older instructors required from their students.
Program Quality10It is my opinion that I attended a very good school that had excellent instructors that prepared me well for the job duties that laid ahead of me. All schools in my area did not have the overall ratings or satisfaction of it's graduates as this particular school did.
Instruction10My instructors were the best at what they did. They prepared me very well for the responsibilities of this profession as they had worked in this field themselves before they decided to teach.
How Difficult10
Hands-On vs. BookishI did have a large amount of textbook learning, but my hands on work was also great. Thinking back now, though, I would say most of my learning at my school came from hands on experiences.
Schedule Flexibility4At the time I attended classes, this was not an option. I attended during the day, five days a week. There were no flexibility in the schedule then. I hear that that has now changed at the school I once attended.
Academic Facilities5At the time I attended classes, there were no computer resources or any of the above mentioned facilities. The accessibility of my instructors, however, was excellent.
Social Life4I assume these activities did exist at the time of my attendance, but I never attended them. My textbook workload was too great to think of doing anything else.
Placement Services10At the time of my graduation, my school made it a priority to help their graduates find mentors close to their homes to finish their year of training before going on to start their careers. They were very helpful to me and my fellow classmates.
Alumni Network5I did have loan officers that assisted me with the funds I needed to complete my course. But I did not really correspond much with other alumni.

Would Recommend?yesI wouldn't necessarily recommend this career for anybody in need of a lot of money. If they want to be a hairdresser, they won't find a better school.
Program Reputation10This is one of two beauty colleges in town. However, it is the one that leads to the greatest number of students obtaining jobs.
Program Quality8The instructors are very good at teaching and make sure that everyone gets the instruction they need. They employ a variety of techniques to make sure everyone learns the necessary skills.
Instruction10The instructors take the time to help each individual student. They are very good at what they do.
How Difficult5I thought the program was pretty easy because I had prior experience doing hair at home. However, someone who had never cut hair before might find it hard.
Hands-On vs. BookishAlmost everything is learned hands-on. You can't really learn how to cut hair from a book.
Schedule Flexibility1Classes are the same time every week. If you can't make your schedule fit around theirs, then you can't go.
Academic Facilities3There aren't really any other facilities except a room full of hairdressing equipment. There aren't any libraries or anything.
Social Life9There aren't any athletics, everybody gets along really great.
Placement Services3They don't really help you find a job after you graduate. They might make recommendations, but that's about it.
Alumni Network3Most people don't really keep in touch after they graduate. I don't really know who the alumni are.

"This was the best school. I was in the one in Owensboro, and their rate was higher, and I didn't get anywhere near the schooling there that I got at Lindsey."

Would Recommend?yesI enjoyed the school and teachers thoroughly. The tuition was great, as were the courses offered. I absolutely would not change a thing. I would recommend this school to anyone thinking of a career in cosmetology.
Program Reputation10It was a very good school. I would not change a thing about it.
Program Quality10I think my school was one of the very best around. I would not change the school I went to.
Instruction10The teachers and instructors were great. The school itself was awesome and had great supervision and guidance.
How Difficult5I didn't consider any of it to be challenging at all. I did have to study and take care for what I was learning, but it was generally easy to understand.
Hands-On vs. BookishWe had plenty of hands-on learning and also used books. It was a very good program.
Schedule Flexibility5Although they didn't offer night classes, their hours were good and I could work part-time while attending class. I think other students were able to do this too.
Academic Facilities5Everything was handy to the students. Our teachers and instructors made sure of it.
Social Life10The social experience at the school was great.
Placement Services5I did not need to use the placement assistance, so I don't know much about it. Two of my friends at the school used it, and they had jobs right out of placement.
Alumni Network10As fellow students, we all got along, with the exception of the occasional rude person. We still keep in contact and enjoy helping one another when we can.
