"For the most part I was satisfied. My only wish was that the owner had kept more up to date on practices and techniques."

Would Recommend?yesMost definitely, there are so many different branches of the field that people can go into such as stylist, instructor, specialist, nails, hair, color, make up, etc. I have yet to have another job where I can work and play and get such a variety of interests.
Program Reputation7The school has changed since I attended and does have a better reputation now. It has since changed ownership, management and instructors.
Program Quality8The program at the time I was attending was somewhat outdated and I had to relearn most of what I was taught in school when entering the workforce. However the instructors did make the program interesting and enjoyable.
Instruction9I did learn quite a bit and the program was relevant to the course. However as stated previously, the school owner at the time was not very current with styles and some procedures.
How Difficult3The curriculum was fairly easy, the first 2 hours of the day consisted of book work/testing, the remainder of the day was spent on clinicals, performing services on clientele and learning hands on. I was still able to work full time without feeling that the school work consumed all of my time.
Hands-On vs. BookishA vast majority of our training involved working on the clinic floor performing services on ourselves, other students or clients. Only 2 hours per day were utilized for book work/regular testing except for major exams which could take a day or two.
Schedule Flexibility3At the time classes were held only from Monday to Friday, 8-4.There were no weekend or evening courses available.
Academic Facilities3We did not have computers at the school, space was limited, and access to instructors was only during school hours.
Social Life4There were some events, such as a hair show that was put on between the 3 separate schools operated by the owner which was fun, and there was also an option to attend another major hair show annually if we chose. Outside of that, there were not other organized events.
Placement Services2Although the school did claim that it offered job placement and career services placement, it in actuality did not. We would have a local salon representative come in once every couple of months or so and do a guest presentation but that was the highest amount of effort that was placed on job placement.
Alumni Network5The school did its job, however it remained in contact with very few after completion. The school's support in finding employment afterwards was certainly not what it claimed to be.
