Would Recommend?yesCAC is more than a school, it's a family. It's a wonderful place, where you don't have to worry about drama or issues with other girls because everyone is there to learn. Instructors may be constantly busy but they are there for you.
Program Reputation10When I started CAC, there were 30 other students. By the time I graduated there were over 60 and night classes had been implemented. It's the best school in our area.
Program Quality10My main instructor has been in the business for over 30 years and has much experience to share. The owner/instructor worked in Chicago for a while and had that experience to share with us.
Instruction10The curriculum was broken down and explained perfectly for each student. Certain areas of study, such as the hair color section, were turned into creative projects, which helped us learn much more easily.
How Difficult4I've always been a quick learner who rarely had to study. The most I studied for anything during my schooling, was during the bone chapter.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere was much more hands on work than book work. Cosmetology isn't really a "learn from the book" kind of career. You need experience to figure it out.
Schedule Flexibility8At first it was about a 4 but when I left it was higher. Night classes were started to help out those with day jobs.
Academic Facilities5Classroom space was very limited due to the number of students coming in. We didn't really have a chance for one on one with instructors either.
Social Life9CAC was an amazing school. The other students are now life long friends of mine.
Placement Services9The owner made sure to help with placement if needed. We would take "field trips" to salons in the area and meet with owners to develop a rapport.
Alumni Network10All of the former students stay in touch and the owner helps with job placement if needed. She made sure we were in competitions and the newspaper constantly to keep our business up.
