Would Recommend?noI've already told others who were thinking of going into this field to NOT attend this school. I got a tip from one of my clients for the sound advice!
Program Reputation1Many students have left for other schools in the area. There are also many verbal fights with the owner.
Program Quality3The instructor was not very educated in the field! We had to rely on other students with higher credentials to help us.
Instruction1The instructor was too busy drinking coffee and smoking to help or care. Our main instruction was from other students.
How Difficult5Practicals took a long time, but helped us prepare for the field. It was a learn-at-your-own-pace experience.
Hands-On vs. BookishBesides other students, the book was the only way to learn. The instructor was busy smoking and drinking coffee. She was completely clueless.
Schedule Flexibility1If you weren't there by 9 a.m., they locked you out of the building.
Academic Facilities1None of the standard resources or facilities were available at our school. If you have a question, you can use the internet on your phone.
Social Life1She doesn't offer any extracurricular activities or social events. Most students left each day angry.
Placement Services1No job placement. Don't care what happens if they let you leave.
Alumni Network1There is no alumni network. One of the students has been there 2 years, due to the fact that the instructor won't let her test.

Would Recommend?yesThe school was good. You get out what you put in.
Program Reputation5At one time I would have said it was a top school in the area, but I think that was because for years it was the only school. As time went on and more schools came in, it kind of lost its shine.
Program Quality7The school was good, but it didn't feel like there was enough variety in clientele to give experience in more areas. Catering to mostly older people on fixed incomes limits what you learn.
Instruction5I think that there should have been more apprenticeships available and that maybe they should have been mandatory.
How Difficult5It was easy some days, not on others. Again, I think a lot of that was limited to the clientele the beauty school brought in.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere is some book work to be done. Practical training was important and always available.
Schedule Flexibility5Like all schools it had day and night classes.
Academic Facilities5Could have had more available. They also didn't make you feel like it was ok to use what they had on hand as far as books. Supplies for doing on site assignments were readily available.
Social Life2Again, this comes from wanting to learn a trade over being there to make friends. I think the younger students may have a different opinion.
Placement Services3They had speakers come in to talk about the different shops to work at, but they never really put an effort into helping you find the place where you'd feel most comfortable.
Alumni Network1We don't keep in touch. A lot of us went to school to learn a trade, not make friends.
