"I was satisfied. I passed the board exam on my first try. You get out of cosmetology school what you put into it."

Would Recommend?noThis school is closed. They manipulated people into taking out more money in grants and student loans than needed. The school was closed by the government due to fraudulent activity in obtaining grants.
Program Reputation5Because the school has been closed for many years, no one really remembers it. It was closed years ago due to fraudulent activity in relation to obtaining student grants.
Program Quality5The school I attended was average, which is not good. Most cosmetology schools are way overpriced and you are required to attend additional training after graduation in order to be successful.
Instruction5Again the instruction was average for most schools. Cosmetology school only trains you in order to pass the state board exam, not actually be successful in a salon.
How Difficult2Beauty school is very easy, there's no homework. The only hard part about it is actually sitting at school to get the required number of hours.
Hands-On vs. BookishCosmetology school provide book instruction for the first few months. You then move out to "the floor" where you work on actual customers.
Schedule Flexibility1Classes were only offered from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. No weekend or night courses were offered.
Academic Facilities5The facility was average compared to other beauty schools. The "kit" of beauty tools was standard for the industry.
Social Life1Most people at the school had bad attitudes. The school did nothing to alleviate this situation.
Placement Services1Job placement was non-existent. Career services assistance was also non-existent at Beauty Masters.
Alumni Network1My school has no alumni network or support. My school is now closed due to fraudulent activity in obtaining student grants.

"I want to take more courses at a better school."

Would Recommend?noDo your homework before starting a program; do not settle!
Program Reputation1The school is in a bad area now; the loan agent who worked for them stole money, etc.
Program Quality1The school was very rundown. The instructors were old and they used dated methods and styles.
Instruction1I do not feel like the school was up to date on the current beauty industry standards. I feel that if I had gone to a different school, I would have been better prepared.
How Difficult1Cosmetology school can be rough, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
Hands-On vs. BookishCosmetology school is typically pretty hands on, and this school was no exception.
Schedule Flexibility5They offered the typical cosmetology school schedule, with day and evening classes, including full-time and part-time.
Academic Facilities1The professors were cranky, rude, outdated and not very happy. The entire building was old and rundown.
Social Life1Nobody really liked each other much at my school; there was a lot of racial tension.
Placement Services1I did not receive job placement help. They typically only put people in positions at Supercuts.
Alumni Network1I do not think anyone wants to stay tied to this school after they leave.
