"I would recommend anyone to this school."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

Would Recommend?yesEverything is where it needs to be.
Program Reputation8I think it's a pretty good school. I was recommended there from someone else and I liked it.
Program Quality10That was a great school and Mrs. Roberta is a great instructor.
Instruction9Every morning we were in the classroom and after class we were in the lab doing hands on work with real people. it doesn't get any better than hands on.
How Difficult5The only thing that was kinda difficult was the book work and all the studying it entailed.
Hands-On vs. BookishLike I said before, there's hands on and book work.
Schedule Flexibility6It was somewhat flexible even though we had set hours to be at school. If we couldn't be there in the day time, night classes were always an option.
Academic Facilities4All we had was a classroom and books. There were no computers, TVs, or other media resources.
Social Life10We always had parties. everyone got along.
Placement Services6They don't really help with finding jobs. That you do yourself.

Would Recommend?yesYes! The classes were small and the instruction was very personal. You learn a lot and retain a lot in a small amount of time!
Program Reputation5Not the most well known in the city, but it produces very educated people. Employers usually know the quality of work that come from this school.
Program Quality10GREAT program. I loved the hands on training and I was taught modern techniques for cut and color. Very Detailed instruction from great instructors.
Instruction9Very detailed and hands on throughout the entire process. Instructors were willing to work with you one on one on areas in which you needed improvement.
How Difficult5The first parts were very difficult - learning the structure of hair and how it lays and grows and how different cuts do different things. But once I got it down it became fun to create different looks.
Hands-On vs. BookishAlmost all hands on. Great way for people to learn. This should be adopted in more university settings.
Schedule Flexibility9I was working full time at the time I was getting my certification. I was able to take night and weekend classes.
Academic Facilities4Being that this was a technical school its resources were limited too the program specifics. Like I had mentioned earlier, teachers were a great resource if you had questions
Social Life1This was a technical school. There were NO sports or extracurricular activities.
Placement Services5I know that is was available for the student's use. I never used it. I did get recommendation letters from my teachers.
Alumni Network3There are post graduate classes to learn new skills, but the overall network is weak. I do not have any ties to the school now.

Would Recommend?yesAfter meeting other cosmetologists and learning of their schooling experiences, I realized that my school is one of the best in the area. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to become a cosmetologist.
Program Reputation9After graduating and meeting other professionals in my field, I realized that most cosmetologists had heard of my school and thought very highly of it. It was also fairly easy for me to find a job after graduation, because most spa and salon managers were familiar with my school and knew that I was well prepared for the work that they would give me.
Program Quality10The teachers and admin at ITS were extremely professional and knowledgeable in their fields. I also love that they help with job placement after graduation.
Instruction10All of my teachers had at least 5 years experience working as cosmetologists, so they had good, real-world advice. They also took the time to focus on all aspects of the field, such as body waxing and makeup, instead of just teaching about facials and skincare.
How Difficult1Learning how to be a facialist is extremely easy. The most important thing is actually going to class and learning the material to pass the state board exam. If you show up to class and study the materials that are given to you, then school will be a breeze.
Hands-On vs. BookishITS provided a perfect mix of book learning and hands-on learning. Every morning, we did bookwork, and every afternoon, we performed services on clients and each other.
Schedule Flexibility5At my school, there were only two options for classes; either day classes full-time or evening classes part-time. If you miss a day, however, they make it very easy to make up the time by attending an additional class or staying late.
Academic Facilities10My school had three different classrooms; one for each department. They were also very good about giving us supplies; for example, each student received $2000 worth of products and implements to use during school, for the state board exam, and after graduation.
Social Life5Because my school was a technical school, there were no athletics, parties, or organized social events. However, all of the girls enrolled in the program became very close, due to the amount of time that we spent together.
Placement Services10ITS is constantly helping their former students find jobs. They keep a very organized and up-to-date binder of job ads, and they are constantly bringing in guest speakers from local salons and spas for the students to meet and network with.
Alumni Network2My school really didn't have much of an alumni network. One thing that they will do, however, is help former students with job placement after graduation.
Review your current or past school and help others make better career decisions.
