Would Recommend?yesThe most important thing is to figure out what you want to do and then go from there. With my degree, there are many options. You can work in your state's MHMR, in a daycare center, in teaching, or you could go and get a masters in counseling and go that route. I decided that I like both management and working with people in a health care setting, which is where my CNA certificate came into play.
Program Reputation5Honestly, before picking my major, I had never heard of the program. It seems rare to find anyone else that has picked that area as well.
Program Quality10I received my certificate prior to going to college but decided against nursing. After a failed marriage, I was able to use my education and training to get a job after being a stay at home mom. I loved the University of Arizona, their programs, and also the atmosphere.
Instruction10Although the classes were very large, the professors were excellent. I took 2 sessions of summer school and was able to graduate in 4 1/2 years with a 3.0 GPA.
How Difficult7The program was very challenging, but because it was something that I was interested in, it was easy to pay attention and learn.
Hands-On vs. BookishIf I missed classes, I was able to catch up by reading. Also, exam reviews were very helpful.
Schedule Flexibility3The classes were not flexible. It was a balancing act to fit it all in, especially when they opened up the phone lines to register. It was very stressful getting close to graduation and making sure I was able to enroll in all the classes that I needed.
Academic Facilities5I rarely used on campus resources so I am not sure what was available then. I only lived on campus for the first year and then rented an apartment off campus. I know there was at least one library. Professors were always willing to help.
Social Life8I was not a party girl; however, many of my fellow dorm mates partied often. I lived in the dorm right next to the stadium so I was glad to move out! There was definitely a lot of school spirit. I still follow the Wildcats.
Placement Services1Although I graduated in 1997, there are no job placement services. You have to put yourself and your resume out there to get noticed. There are so many different options with my degree and with extra certifications, it's easy to go a different route.
Alumni Network5I am not active in the alumni. I get numerous sales calls and preapproved credit card applications. The magazine that is sent out helps me stay up to date on what has changed around the campus.

Instruction10The instructors at the University of Phoenix are very helpful in teaching and guiding me through the information that I am learning.
How Difficult5The work can be difficult at times, but there are many resources available to suit my needs.
Hands-On vs. BookishMy classes are very book oriented.
Schedule Flexibility10My school's flexibility is what made me select this school.
Academic Facilities10My school has many resources available to suit the needs of the students.

Placement Services5I would like to have more job placement resources available.
