Would Recommend?yesI felt that I learned a lot during my course at Family Health West. My instructor and the other staff members were always available for questions and interaction in the class itself.
Program Reputation5The town where I lived only had 2 places offering the course. From what I know, Family Health West was the better of the choices.
Program Quality5My course was short, but informative. Our class and school were very much hands on, which can be a big help with learning for some people. We covered many aspects of being a CNA, which included being a home health aide.
Instruction8The instructor always did her best to be informative and helpful. She made time to get to know the students as individuals.
How Difficult3The course was short and to the point. Much of what we learned was common sense, but not all of it.
Hands-On vs. BookishOur course was both textbook and assignment handouts. We read at home, but most of the class itself was hands-on learning.
Schedule Flexibility4Because the class was so short, it was very important to go to class daily. If you missed a class, you could miss something important and then fail a test. This would affect your grades and learning.
Academic Facilities3At the time I took my course, the facility was undergoing new building and rearranging of the facility. The class was held in an unused ward.
Social Life8The facility was very friendly and everyone wanted to help. The facility frequently had activities to participate in with the staff and residents.
Placement Services10Family Health West offered the program as an incentive to work for the company. You were also paid minimum wage while taking the class.
Alumni Network3Most of the people who were in the class went on to work for the facility that taught the class. Due to that fact, everyone was well acquainted and friendly.
