"There were good times here and there with people and everyone was nice enough. It just seems like the school is not on track with the rest of the town/community."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | no | Unless they have hired a new teacher I would not. |
| Program Reputation | 5 | I have heard nothing bad about the program. I also have not heard anything good about it either, which is why I gave it a neutral rating. |
| Program Quality | 4 | I was the youngest person in the class by at least 5 years, so it was a little hard to keep up with others. I'm in the Air Force now and am much more confident in my work. |
| Instruction | 4 | The instruction did not help me very well. They did a lot of talking with the older gentlemen and I felt I was left out of the course at times. |
| How Difficult | 6 | |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | I learned some good information hands on, but really not enough to carry a good job. In 4 weeks in the military tech school I believe I learned more than I did in 3 semesters at community college. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 4 | To this day I am still disappointed that only day classes were offered. I now have a G.I. Bill and would like to take some more technical classes, such as welding and mechanics, but because of that I will have to carry a normal day job. I may be forced to find a job that lets me work part time in the winter in order to take classes. |
| Academic Facilities | 5 | I had one teacher I could go to for advice or help. The library was good and the computer lab was decent. Classroom space for HVAC was cramped. |
| Social Life | 2 | The technical school people are pushed to the back of the campus with a different parking lot. We were never made aware when school functions were going on or if there was some kind of free food being offered. |
| Placement Services | 5 | I stay neutral once again because I was not helped with this. Of course I did catch a job with the best HVAC company in Arkansas, but because of poor training and lack of confidence in what I was doing, the work load became too much and too advanced and I was not given a chance to learn. This was an extremely stressful and hopeless environment. That was the reason I joined the military - to further my training. |
