"I am pleased with myself for going back to school and continuing my career. Graduating from S.T.C.C. was great, and I'm glad I chose to go there and take the courses I took. My school is outstanding and I'm just glad I could be a part of their history"

Would Recommend?yesS.T.C.C. is an excellent school and the teachers go above and beyond for their students. The students are willing to help other students, and each brings something different to the table. The time I spent in class was a great time in my life and I wouldn't change a thing. Anyone considering HVAC/R should look into the energy systems program at S.T.C.C.
Program Reputation10From my understanding S.T.C.C. is one of only two places in New England that offer the whole degree program. it is very thorough and details EVERY aspect of the industry.
Program Quality10When I first walked into the classroom I had no knowledge of the industry at all, but my teachers made it easy for me to learn. We went over everything from squirrel cage fans to proper wiring of different types of systems and components.
Instruction10Mike was the A/C instructor while Bob taught the oil burner side. Both teachers had their own styles of teaching, but somehow the two aspects would always blend into each other nicely.
How Difficult7The work and labs were varied. Some classes were extremely easy, such as heating and advanced heating systems design, yet others, such as building systems management, were a bigger challenge.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe courses were a balanced mix of book work and hands on labs. Each lab was one day a week for 3 hours. The book work totaled about three to four hours a week and was complimented by field trips to power plants, waste management plants, and company buildings to show the commercial side of systems.
Schedule Flexibility7The classes can be taken at various times throughout the day(s), as well as at night. The only downfall is that certain classes can only be taken during certain semesters.
Academic Facilities10We had access to a two story library, numerous computer labs throughout the campus, advisers to go to for other issues, and of course our teachers for help. The only downfall to the program was that tutors didn't have a clue about the field since their were no specific HVAC/R tutors, but the teachers filled in that role nicely.
Social Life10The energy systems building was away from the other buildings so I didn't really interact too much with other students. Although it was set apart from the rest of the campus, we had our own little family, so to speak. We went to lunch on breaks, talked before and after class, and would even get up for dinner and beers.
Placement Services8The teachers have us fill out a resume with our information and our grades, as well as our goals and any skills we've gained. once filled out, they are sent to over 300 companies around the country for consideration.
Alumni NetworkTo be honest I'm not quite sure of this. I never really got to into that so I couldn't really tell.
