"Great 4 years. It was entertaining. Classes would have benefitted me well, had I chosen a career in the field."

| Would Recommend? | maybe | UMD has wonderful courses that will help you in your criminal justice career. Unfortunately, unless you are female or a minority, the opportunity for an advanced level position with the federal government is extremely limited. A white male will need to be at the top of his class to secure a federal job in CCJS. Good Luck! |
| Program Reputation | 10 | Many of my college peers have begun successful careers in law enforcement. Some have even progressed to FBI and SS. |
| Program Quality | 9 | Well rounded program for Criminology. I decided that police work was not in my future after meeting with several professionals in the industry. |
| Instruction | 10 | At UMD I learned a lot about myself and a lot about the Criminal Justice field. It helped me decide where my skillset could best be utilized. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Statistic courses were tedious and unrelated. Some of the criminal theory was difficult to comprehend. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | Almost entirely book orientated. No hands on demonstrations except for in unrelated fields. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 7 | I could have avoided 8am classes. Evening classes were not available through UMCP. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | Libraries and computer resources were good. Broadband research was phenomenal. |
| Social Life | 8 | Social activities were available. Clubs were numerous and approachable. |
| Placement Services | 4 | The peers that I associate with have found careers on their own. Career fairs have employers that seem to be only interested in females and minorities. I assume that they are under represented in law enforcement. |
| Alumni Network | 6 | It was a large school and easy to get lost in. They constantly send me magazines to make me feel involved. |
