"I'm satisfied with all of the hands on experience and with most of the teachers. I think the school itself could have invested more into the program."

Would Recommend?yesI would tell them up front that it is a lot of work and to make sure it is something they're passionate about before starting. I would also warn them about how I did have to take some classes over the summer.
Program Reputation8My education has provided me with a lot of skills that can be used not only in the interior design field, but all other fields. Any time I tell someone that I went to the University of New Haven, they always respond by saying, "What a good school."
Program Quality7The program was very tough and provided me with a solid foundation for the future. Sometimes I felt as though we were overworked and it sucked the passion for design from within me.
Instruction7My teachers all had worked or were working in the field and were very knowledgeable. I don't think all of them should have been teachers. The grading system for design can be tricky because it can be up to personal preference.
How Difficult10I ended up having to take my core classes over the summer because I did not have the time to take them in addition to my design classes during the regular school year. I spent at least one day on the weekend and one vacation per year doing work.
Hands-On vs. BookishWe did a ton of hands on learning. All of the projects we were assigned to work on were either existing projects or real projects from the past.
Schedule Flexibility7They offered a fair amount of evening classes as well as online classes, but they usually filled up fast. They also offer summer classes.
Academic Facilities4Our classrooms were way too small for what we needed. Our drafting classroom did not have a plotter so we had to pay for everything to be printed. Most professors were easy to make arrangements with if you needed to meet.
Social Life8The school tried very hard to have organized events and there were a lot of people with school spirit. Since most people who went to this school lived in the state, they would usually go home on the weekends, so there weren't a whole lot of people attending these events.
Placement Services3They claim to help you find a job, but nothing ever came from it. They were really only helpful when it came to editing my resume.
Alumni Network5We are given mailings and invited to different alumni activities. I feel as though all they want is money and that can be annoying.
