Would Recommend?yesYou cannot go wrong going to the University of Iowa. They have a large number of programs that are rated nationally in top college programs. I highly recommend them.
Program Reputation9University of Iowa is well known for their highly rated programs. Engineering is an excellent, nationally rated program at the University.
Program Quality10It provided me with not only great engineering training, but also great aspects on design. You must have an engineer mentality to understand excellent abstract design. I believe University of Iowa was an excellent school for this.
InstructionMore than 5 years agon/a
How Difficult9Engineering especially is an extremely difficult major in college. It involves very complicated math along with heavy computer usage.
Hands-On vs. BookishWe did a lot of book learning as some of the classes were large discussions and could not do hands on. The smaller classrooms were the place to get more hands on. Mainly with computer work.
Schedule Flexibility7It was sometimes relatively difficult to get into classes because there were limited spaces. This made scheduling around classes difficult as well.
Academic Facilities10The resources that were provided to me during school were excellent. I had all the materials I needed for my classes and assignments.
Social Life9University of Iowa is an excellent school that is known for their athletics, academics, and parties. You will never feel out of place there.
Placement Services8I had no issues finding a career in Phoenix, AZ. I wanted to live here and was able to locate a job within a month of looking.
Alumni Network6I have very little to do with the school anymore. I have received a couple of calls from Iowa's alumni association, but that is it.
