Would Recommend?yesThe Interior Architecture program at the University of Oregon is by far the best in terms of quality and student teacher interaction.
Program Reputation10U of O hosts one of the finest Interior Architecture programs in the country.
Program Quality10The University of Oregon has one of the best architecture programs in the nation. I preferred to take Interior Architecture over, structural architecture because I find interior design far more interesting.
Instruction8John Briscoe is one of the finest Interior Architecture professors in the nation, his modernest approach mixes with the Classical style which he teaches.
How Difficult8The U of O's architecture program is one of the best in the nation; thus, the difficulty is rather extreme. All architecture courses require 5 years worth of study and internships.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe universities Interior Architecture program is far more hands on than book centered. While you learn everything you need to know from the professor, a majority of your grades rely on the students ability to perform that which the professor is teaching.
Schedule Flexibility10The school of Architecture allows students full 24/7 access to it's buildings and equipment during the school year. The University also offers courses in both Eugene at it's main campus, and at its new campus in Portland. In Portland students can intern with some of the Northwests finest interior and exterior designers; as well as, take courses in product design.
Academic Facilities10Due to the many donors in the University of Oregon Alumni network the University is never short on financial or material support. The Universities gives its students only the best resources the field has to offer.
Social Life7While everyone at the school is extremely friendly, the weather tends to dampen any outdoor activities for about 5-7 months during the rainy season. There are however, many fine dinning restaurants and movie theaters to go to.
Placement Services2Don't plan on receiving any help finding a job unless you are top of your class. Although one of the best in the nation, the interior design and Architecture field is one of the hardest to find work for in our current economy.
Alumni Network3Although vast, the alumni only cater to the top of the Architecture class.
