"I was one of only 7 that graduated and found a job within a week. I feel my training there has carried me well for the past 30 years."

| Would Recommend? | yes | It now offers an RN program as well as many other programs. The financial aid department works hard to assist people with getting help to afford college. Overall, it's a very good school. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | It's the only program of this kind in a 50 mile radius and I know that they have a large waiting list. Plus, I know the doctors in the area will hire these grads in a heartbeat. |
| Program Quality | 10 | My instructors were great! They gave invaluable lessons outside of textbook instruction. They were tough, but fair. |
| Instruction | 10 | As I said, I had excellent instructors. They had all been department heads before teaching and really knew their stuff. |
| How Difficult | 8 | We had a very intense program but it was manageable. I just wish we had had more classes offered at that time. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | We spent a lot of time in clinicals and had extensive book learning. As I said, I just wish we had had more book learning. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 1 | There were no weekend or online options at that time. I do know that they offer minimal online courses at present. |
| Academic Facilities | 5 | Back then there was just the bookstore. I have been to the school since and I do know that they have a computer lab and offer tutoring services. |
| Social Life | 1 | There were no outside activities, just classes. I'm not sure how this has changed. |
| Placement Services | 1 | They did not have a job placement service when I graduated. I don't know about now. |
| Alumni Network | 1 | There is no alumni association as far as I know. I have never rec'd anything if there is. |

"The school maintained a very high standard for instructors. The teachers had great knowledge of all state requirements for passing the state nursing exams, and students were taught with these in mind."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

| Would Recommend? | yes | The overall experience at Dekalb area Technical School was very good, and for this reason I would highly recommend it to others seeking a career in the nursing field. Their choice of hospitals for clinical study is very good, and their willingness to help students with any money concerns is great. |
| Program Reputation | 9 | The Dekalb Area Technical School has maintained a state wide reputation of graduating competent and skilled nurses. This includes high scores on the state board examinations. |
| Program Quality | 10 | The Area Technical school I went to offered a lot of experience in this field of study. Grades had to be above a C level to remain in the program. |
| Instruction | 10 | My teachers were older and had a a vast amount of experience. They had approximately 40 years of working experience combined. |
| How Difficult | 10 | The school was able to weed out unsatisfactory students. With a starting class of 60, there were only 18 graduating students. This was due to the stringent academic standards. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | The nursing program followed a set course of classroom time. The program, after the first quarter, was focused on clinical experiences. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 1 | The nursing program is highly structured. The classes are offered twice a year in two staggered sessions. |
| Academic Facilities | 5 | At the time I graduated, the school did not have computers. There were also no study groups or support systems in place. That being said, the teacher was available during class and in the hospital setting for any questions or concerns involving patient care or procedures. |
| Social Life | 5 | This being a nursing program, social interaction was limited. The students formed their own social structures. |
| Placement Services | 3 | To the best of my knowledge, this school does not try to place nurses after graduation. However, they do include appropriate class discussions on they ways to apply to institutions for jobs. |
| Alumni Network | 4 | There hasn't been an active alumni network that I have been aware of. And that includes all the social networks. I am also not aware of any newsletters from that class year being sent out. |

| Would Recommend? | yes | I would recommend MTC to others interested in nursing or health related fields. MTC is a very classy school and prepares you for your career. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | The reputation is good in my area. Most graduates get jobs at the area hospitals or in local doctors' offices. the teachers are well known in the community. |
| Program Quality | 8 | Moultrie Tech is a very good, hands on teaching school. The teachers are qualified nurses who use real life situations as their teaching tools. |
| Instruction | 8 | The quality of instruction is superb. When I went to work I felt well prepared. |
| How Difficult | 8 | The school is difficult, but the field of study is crucial for learning this trade. The work is both classroom and clinical based. Most of my time was dedicated to getting through the program. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | The nursing degree involves practical, situational learning as well as much book learning. Medicines and drugs have to be memorized. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 4 | The nursing program is not real flexible for the classroom part. The clinical part gives each student choices in which hospitals they will do their clinicals. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | Moultrie Tech has very large classrooms and many different resources to prepare you for real life nursing. There is tutoring available and plenty of support. |
| Social Life | 5 | There are no sports at the school. There are social events through the school in the medical field. |
| Placement Services | 9 | The college provides job placement help. They set me up with several interviews. |
| Alumni Network | 9 | Most of the teachers came through the school. Many former graduates work with me now. There are many alumni working around the area. |
