"The school prepared me for my 18 year career very well. I am still using what I learned on the floor from my nursing instructors."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |

| Would Recommend? | yes | I would recommend the school, but it is no longer there. To help someone find a school equivalent to mine would be difficult. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | The school is no longer there due to funding reasons. When still standing it was very highly recommended. |
| Program Quality | 10 | The School I attended was rated number two in the nation for passing the written board exams. The teachers were very experienced in the profession and I was taught very well. |
| Instruction | 10 | The teachers from the very first day started to prepare us for the NYS boards. The curriculum was always about what we would be doing in real world situations and was always very relevant. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Because we only had 10 months to complete the program, we had a lot of work to be done in a short time. It was very challenging, but I believe this made me a better nurse. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | We had many hours of lecture and book reading. We also had many hours of clinical which utilized hands-on learning. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 4 | The school's scheduling was very tight and inflexible. We were expected to be there by 7 am and stay until 1:30 PM. Any time missed had to be made up. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | The school's resources were very good as we had a hospital within walking distance for our clinicals. We also had a very well-lit classroom for our lectures. |
| Social Life | 10 | The social life was wonderful. We all became friends and in nursing you have to work as a team, within our classroom we learned this through our friendships. |
| Placement Services | 5 | They did not really help place me in a job. The one thing they did was give me letters of recommendation and references. |
| Alumni Network | 5 | We did not meet very many alumni. The one we did meet was not very helpful. |

"Very satisfied because I'm an LPN now."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

| Would Recommend? | yes | It's a hard school, but you will learn plenty. |
| Program Reputation | 9 | They said that our school is one of the best schools in New York, especially for nursing. |
| Program Quality | 10 | I learned a lot in that school. The teachers were very dedicated in their job to teach us well. |
| Instruction | 10 | They gave us tests everyday and that made us better. The learning materials were good, too. |
| How Difficult | 7 | The course was really hard. I had to divide my studying and leisure time. There was so much work to do. But I loved it! |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | What I loved about this is that we used books, but at the same time we used hands on learning materials so that we understood concepts better. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 8 | I could choose whatever schedule I wanted. They gave me a lot of options to choose from. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | Academic facilities and resources were good. We had it all in there. The library had lots of books for my program. I didn't have to go to other libraries for books. |
| Social Life | 8 | I didn't get the chance to attend athletic events because of my program. |
| Placement Services | 7 | They're good. When I finished they tried to help me find a job. |

"Because our head was strict, we all tried harder. Whenever we were out and even after graduation you could tell we were part of the USPN school."

| Would Recommend? | no | My school shut down many years ago. If it were still there I don't know that I would recommend it because the headmaster would not be running it and I would not know who or how the new head would be. |
| Program Reputation | The school is no longer in existence. | |
| Program Quality | 10 | The school I attended was one of the best in NY state. I was very happy to be accepted and grateful for the strictness of the head of the school. |
| Instruction | 9 | I can not remember the names of the teachers. One teacher was great - very involved and hands on. The other teacher was flaky during clinical practice, but the classes she taught were okay. |
| How Difficult | 9 | I did not find it very difficult because nursing was what I truly wanted to do. When I study something I really like, I find it easy to learn. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | I enjoyed clinical study, but I also enjoyed learning from my books. There was a big difference in LPN and RN nursing. We kind of were the peons of nurses until I moved to Texas (got my license by reciprocity). I then felt more useful and enjoyed nursing more because I had more responsibility. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 1 | No flex at all. Classes were 8 to 3, Monday through Friday. No chance of anything else. |
| Academic Facilities | 6 | Now a days it would be considered sub par. We were in the basement of an elementary school and did not have many resources. Study groups were non existent unless you started up with friends. Only one nice teacher was approachable and the head of our school was very strict. |
| Social Life | Nothing much to say. Get your work done, do it right, and get out. | |
| Placement Services | 9 | As students we had the opportunity to apply for jobs at the hospital where did our clinical studies. Most of us were hired after we graduated. |
| Alumni Network | 3 | I have not seen anyone from that school in many years. I have no idea how to get in touch with any of them. I have done searches on the net, but they have come up negative. |

"I miss it to this day. I never thought it was going to end while I was going to school, but looking back now, it went by real fast and now it's 6 years later!"

| Would Recommend? | yes | If my friends were looking to make a career as an LPN, I would strongly encourage them to attend this school. They are dedicated to making you successful and it's almost as close to home as you can get. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | I have not attended this school for 6 years, but I am sure the rating is just as high as when I attended. I have heard it's still pretty good. |
| Program Quality | 10 | This school was very organized with the curriculum and the instructors were very helpful. The school was close to where I lived. |
| Instruction | 10 | The curriculum was set up at a good pace. The lab was the hands-on part, which was great for going at your own pace and learning new things. Instructors really took the time to help you with what you needed to learn. |
| How Difficult | 8 | For every one hour in class, there is 2 hours of homework. This was very true when it came to studying and reading and preparing for quizzes. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | There was a good mix of hands on and book learning. If we learned something in the book, we went over to the lab to work on it hands-on. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 5 | There were no options for the LPN class. It was a day schedule and that was it. We did not attend class on the weekends or holidays, which was nice, but it was a solid year right through. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | We did not have a library, but we had a lab, which was great. The lab had all the equipment that was needed and more. The classroom space was not too bad and the access to the computers wasn't bad either. Professors were always more than willing to stay and help. |
| Social Life | 5 | We didn't really have any social events at this school. We did have a get-together after graduation, however. The only social-ness we had was seeing each other every day! |
| Placement Services | 8 | I never took advantage of the job placement at the school because I was already currently working and transitioned into an LPN there. My fellow classmates used the job placement and came out with great jobs that they wanted. |
| Alumni Network | 8 | We did not have an alumni network, but the instructors and other staff were very helpful. |
