Would Recommend?yesMost definitely. It is an excellent program. The education is great and the nursing field is by far a rewarding one. I would recommend this school to anyone.
Program Reputation10I personally have not heard many negative reviews of the college. My experience was excellent. I would recommend the program to others.
Program Quality10I enjoyed my college experience at Rhodes State. I had wonderful instructors. The guidance staff was very helpful in assisting me in making the best choices for classes and they moved me through as quickly as possible despite the incredible wait list.
Instruction10I had the best instructors. I still remember many of the valuable tips they provided and I implement them in my daily work. They were very good about answering questions and making difficult material understandable.
How Difficult6The course work was difficult but the instructors made it so we could learn it. It was definitely a challenge, but with great teachers it was not as difficult as it could have been.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere was a perfect mix of hands on learning vs book learning. In the nursing field you really must have a good experience with both because both are so important. I am a very hands on type learner, but the hands on learning tied in with the book work and made it a little easier for me.
Schedule Flexibility7Throughout most of the program there was some flexibility. Many classes offered day, evening, or weekend options. However, once clinicals started, there were no time choices. But the college was very upfront about this from the beginning. I was very fortunate to have a flexible job.
Academic Facilities10The resources were great. We had a nice library and an amazing computer center with staff that was very helpful. The instructors were always willing to help if you had a question. The guidance staff was incredible and helped me throughout the entire program.
Social Life6We didn't have athletics or social events. It was a technical school so I really didn't go into it expecting that.
Placement Services10When I graduated I was assisted in depth by a counselor on how to write the best possible resume. It really helped me land my first job. I managed to produce an exceptional resume and with almost no working history at that time. I have utilized those techniques throughout my career to obtain all the jobs I have worked ever since.
Alumni Network5I don't participate in the alumni program. I have received letters in the mail. I just never really found the time to participate.

Would Recommend?yesI do all the time to the other people I know who want to be nurses. Some of them are there now.
Program Reputation8It's got a great rep. Many of my colleagues went there.
Program Quality7It's your average community college. They are geared towards non traditional students, which helps.
Instruction6I learned just as much as any other NA. I feel confident in my knowledge at the work place.
How Difficult8It wasn't easy balancing work and clinicals, but it paid off. CSU really works with your schedule.
Hands-On vs. BookishMore hands on. But I cracked the books every night.
Schedule Flexibility8Night classes got me through the program because I worked during the day. Very flexible times.
Academic Facilities5The teachers are great resources. The library...not so much.
Social Life4Like I said, it's a community college. People go there for the education, not the social life.
Placement Services7It's excellent. They got me a a job at OSUMC.
Alumni Network3I don't hear anything about alumni. I suppose it could be helpful, but it is a community college.

Would Recommend?yesI have recommended this school to several people. I really enjoyed this school and I am sure others will also.
Program Reputation10The school's reputation is very good. They have waiting lists for the classes and they have even added more classes to accommodate the need.
Program Quality10I enjoyed my schooling. The teachers and clinical instructors were very organized, thorough, and helpful.
Instruction10I felt my education was very good. It started with the basics and reached all necessary topics.
How Difficult5I was enrolled part time so it was not as difficult as full time. I also did not have to work while in school so I was able to put all my efforts into my studies.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe classes were intermingled with a hands on lab. when certain classes were finished we would have a round of clinicals dealing with what we just learned.
Schedule Flexibility10They offer both full and part time classes. Days and evenings are also available.
Academic Facilities10The clinical lab is great. It has many resources to use and learn from. The teachers were great also and if someone needed help with studies, they were always willing.
Social Life2This is an adult education center. There were not any extra activities offered.
Placement Services5They did not help to place me in a job. They did have some mentorships at the end of the last clinical in which we had the opportunity to pick a facility and work there for a few weeks, but it did not guarantee a job.
Alumni NetworkI really don't know how to answer this. What is an alumni network?

Would Recommend?yesThe program taught everything needed for the NCLEX.
Program Reputation10Some of the best nurses graduated from W-E. The waiting list to get into the school is very long.
Program Quality9The program could have offered more clinical experience. Some of the teachers should have been more supportive.
Instruction5You are never fully prepared for the real world. in school the clinical experience did not involve home care - it only involved hospital and nursing home settings.
How Difficult10A lot of studying was required. I did not have time to have much of a social life while in school.
Hands-On vs. BookishGood mixture. Covered a lot of the basics, if not all of them.
Schedule Flexibility3The year went from August through the following June, just as a regular school is ran. Same hours every day - 7am-2pm. No weekend or afternoon classes available.
Academic Facilities9Class size is small. Many resources are available. Teachers also work in the clinical side on the floor and in the community.
Social LifeNo parties. No groups.
Placement Services6The school had a high school program and adult program. The high school kids were discriminated against in terms of job placement help.
Alumni Network4The alumni network did not keep in touch with students.

Would Recommend?yesAcademics were very good. You will be well prepared.
Program Reputation10There is a long waiting list to enroll. School is known for its academics and preparation.
Program Quality9I was able to pass the NCLEX without difficulty and work well with others on a knowledgeable basis.
Instruction8You are never fully prepared for the real world. I was able to fit right in without struggling.
How Difficult9Very hard. A lot of studying, and tests every couple of days.
Hands-On vs. BookishGreat mix. Prepared students for the NCLEX and the workplace.
Schedule Flexibility7No weekend or evening programs. 7-2pm, Monday through Friday only.
Academic Facilities9Very resourceful. Teachers not only are in the classroom setting, but also work in hospitals.
Social Life5No parties, no groups. Strict academics.
Placement Services6Due to having high school and adult programs combined, some jobs would not hire, due to graduates being so young.
Alumni Network5Alumni did not keep in touch with students. Support was poor.
