"I loved the experience. I do not believe it was worth the student loans with the current unemployment rate, but that is not my schools fault. Go Rams."

Would Recommend?yesIf you are into marketing, CSU is great for it. I learned a great amount in a short time and I had fun along the way.
Program Reputation8It is no ivy league school, but if I remember correctly, it is pretty high in the ratings. Definitely better than Boulder.
Program Quality9My education provided me with the ability to compete in my job. The instructors were very helpful.
Instruction7The instruction did not give very much help in finding a job. I should have learned more about market plan preparation.
How Difficult9The workload was intense and rewarding. I did not have very much free time, but I left college ready to take on the world.
Hands-On vs. BookishSome professors I had would only give readings and others would not even have a text book. It was a teacher by teacher decision.
Schedule Flexibility5I was able to take summer classes to stay on course with my graduation plan. Night classes were not offered.
Academic Facilities10We had all of the best tools to complete work. The printers didn't always work, but it didn't matter.
Social Life10School spirit was high, the parties were perfect, and the organized social events were always top notch.
Placement Services5They could have given me more help in this field. I had a difficult time finding a career.
Alumni Network9I was given an Alumni email address and a notepad. They have not asked me for money yet, which is nice. Student Loans will rob me over the next few years.

"Overall, I enjoyed attending my school. Both socially and educationally, it was a great 4-year experience."

Would Recommend?yesCU is an amazing school to attend, for many reasons. One, the campus is beautiful and the outdoor activities are second to none. Two, the new business school is fully equipped. And three, the professors are knowledgeable and provide great hands-on experience.
Program ReputationI'm not really sure.
Program Quality8The Leeds School of Business (at CU) was a top-rated school when I was there. The professors did a good job of covering a broad range of marketing subjects and giving us opportunities to work on real-world problems for businesses.
Instruction8Most, but not all, of my professors were awesome. They seemed well prepared, brought in quality guest speakers, and spent extra time with us outside of normal classes.
How Difficult6I thought the workload was just right.
Hands-On vs. BookishWe definitely had a mix. We were able to study from our marketing books, but we were also able to work on business problems for local companies.
Schedule FlexibilityI didn't take advantage of a flexible schedule, so I'm not really sure how flexible it is.
Academic Facilities8Resources are even better than when I was there. They rebuilt the business school and have new tools for students. While I was there, I felt like the libraries, computer resources, etc., were adequate.
Social Life8I was involved with a number of student groups, so organized social events were frequent. School spirit was high at the time, because our football team was good.
Placement Services8I thought the career services group was really helpful. Plus, since our professors brought businesspeople into our classes, we had the opportunity to network with local business leaders. I got an internship my senior year, which then turned into a full-time job for 4 years.
Alumni Network7I'm not super involved in the alumni association, but the staff seems to be interested in using alumni to help current students. I have spoken at a few classes at CU since graduating.

"I am very satisfied, because everything turned out great for me. I could not have done it without the knowledge I gained at the school."

Would Recommend?maybeDepends on what they want to spend, and I would need to know about the school's current programs and ratings. A long time has passed, but if it were still 1986-1988, I would recommend it, simply because of my experience there!
Program ReputationI don't know; I moved out of Denver years ago and don't hear much here in Wisconsin. The people in my social circle are well above college age and their kids mostly go to school here in the state. I don't really communicate with too many people in Denver anymore.
Program Quality10I learned the basic knowledge that got me in the door at several places and allowed me to learn more in the real world.
Instruction8I would have never gotten my foot in the door without the knowledge I gained from the school.
How Difficult4It was almost 25 years ago, but as I remember, a lot of my work involved "fun" things and revolved around what was going on in the real world. More statistics and trends than numbers and formulas.
Hands-On vs. BookishClasses were small and professors were very accessible. My studies involved a lot of real-world observation, so I would say it was less book and more hands on.
Schedule Flexibility5Since it was about 25 years ago, I don't remember all the details, but as far as I know, I could pick and choose my classes. I do know that I had a part-time job while in school and was easily able to do both, with no scheduling problems.
Academic Facilities9Always had the resources I needed to be productive.
Social Life9I supported our hockey team. The school was known for the team and the school spirit was great.
Placement ServicesI did not need their services and never have. I did it all on my own.
Alumni Network10They have a database where we can connect with past classmates and also update personal information. They also let me know current news and happenings at DU.

"I was very satisfied with my school. I look back fondly on the time I spent there."

Would Recommend?yesI would recommend it unequivocally. It is a good solid school and is a nice alternative to larger public institutions.
Program Reputation8CCU has a good regional reputation in the business field. As well as traditional undergrad studies, they offer a lot of adult studies programs such as organizational management and other business majors for working adults.
Program Quality8CCU has a pretty strong program with a mix of standard business classes such as management, accounting, economics, etc. Also, we got a fair dose of real-world experience with our senior level classes and internships.
Instruction8CCU is a fairly small university so the ratios of faculty to students is pretty low, especially in the 400 level senior classes. Academic advisors will often have you in one or more of their classes so there is a good rapport with them. Career prep was good and I felt like I was pretty well prepared for the workforce when I got out.
How Difficult6The business degree at CCU wasn't terribly difficult - you definitely had to keep up with the studies but it isn't as hard as pure science or a math majors. Workload included a lot of research papers which can be fairly time-consuming, as well as a lot of course reading.
Hands-On vs. BookishCCU leans more toward the book learning, but with a fair bit of practical hands-on learning later in your major program. In my case, the last year of the business program was far more hands-on and the first three years were more academic and book-oriented.
Schedule Flexibility6As I mentioned above, CCU is a smaller university, so that tends to limit class options, especially upper-level options. That said, they have been able to expand enrollment for non-traditional courses quite a bit in the last few years.
Academic Facilities6Facilities and academic resources are adequate. They are somewhat space-limited, but have expanded extension campuses in the last 10 years to help with the problem.
Social Life10Being a small private university, the social aspect of the school was a big draw for me and I loved all 4 years there tremendously. Athletics were well-attended and there were a lot of social events planned.
Placement ServicesI haven't used the career services to find job placement. In the future I would make use of them if necessary.
Alumni Network6The alumni network is pretty good - there are numerous events available to attend for networking and career building/counseling. Social media is used well to inform and update events and information.
