"I loved my years at UN-L. I was given an assistantship to complete my MBA wherein I was paid a stipend and free tuition. I did marketing research on commercialization feasibility of industrial agricultural products. It was very rewarding."

Would Recommend?yesUN-L and Lincoln, NE are safe, friendly and encourage individual responsibility. It wouldn't appeal to folks on the coast but for the average Joe looking for a great place to get a degree on time and at a good tuition rate, it can't be beat.
Program Reputation5Again, UN-L is nothing amazing. It offers good value for the tuition and is respected in the Great Plains states.
Program Quality9UN-L is no Wharton School of Business. The MBA program maintains high standards and provides good professors.
Instruction9In many areas there is exceptional talent in the departments. In some areas, the English language skills of the professors is challenging!
How Difficult5There were a lot of Harvard business school cases. They required team effort and presentations - all good preparation for the real world of work.
Hands-On vs. BookishIt truly depends on the subject. Some subjects lend themselves to "the book," others to "hands on."
Schedule Flexibility5Pre- and post-sessions in the summer provide an excellent opportunity to get some extra hours under your belt. Due to the size of the student body, many classes are difficult to obtain. The drop and add process is a nightmare!
Academic Facilities9The library and staff is above average (I've attended other universities that did not provide the personal assistance that one can get at UN-L). Classrooms are cramped, hot and not up to date, but it is not an expensive university. Many professors are more interested in research and grant money, but then there are the exceptions who inspire one to learn and work.
Social LifeI was married, a grandmother and in my late 40's: I was hardly a social "butterfly." The Greeks at the school were active, as were the band members. Football players are given way too much status and perks.
Placement Services10The job placement office does a good job of providing interviews from a variety of employers. Potential employers seek graduates from UN-L because of their small town backgrounds, morals, farm and ranch experience and ethics.
Alumni NetworkI have no idea. I have never been contacted by the alumni office. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I was a non-traditional student.
