Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | Campus is friendly and convenient. Tuition is affordable and worth the price. |
| Program Reputation | Since I am back in California, I am not sure of the current reputation. When I was attending, we had a good reputation. A nice laid back city and relaxed campus atmosphere. | |
| Program Quality | 8 | I felt well prepared. I was ready to enter the workforce and felt confident in my skills. |
| Instruction | 7 | The teachers were great. I was taught valuable skills and find what I learned useful in every day life. |
| How Difficult | 7 | I did not find the curriculum extremely difficult. It was very manageable and relevant to my job at the time. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | The majority of class work was book learning. However, my favorite courses were taught as outside work experience classes where we check back in every so often. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | I was able to take classes around my work schedule. I also took weekend and night classes with no problems. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | Our teachers always had an open-door policy. I never had a question go unanswered. I had a lot of help studying from fellow classmates too. |
| Social Life | Unfortunately, due to work commitments I was unable to participate in many school events. The school spirit was positive and events seemed like a lot of fun. | |
| Placement Services | I did not participate/was not offered any job placement assistance. Fortunately I was hired directly out of college. | |
| Alumni Network | I am not familiar with the alumni program. I have not kept in contact since graduation. |

"I was extremely happy. I got a great education and enjoyed my time at Oregon."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | Although I majored in PR and Advertising, it has been very relevant to my position as a marketing manager. Additionally, I minored in business at Oregon (which has a great business minor program) and learned a great deal about business and marketing. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | The journalism program is well known and respected. It is well known even outside of Oregon. |
| Program Quality | 10 | My school prepared me very well for the workforce. I enjoyed all of the classes I took and had very knowledgeable professors. |
| Instruction | 10 | The curriculum was very engaging and informative. I learned skills that I use every day. |
| How Difficult | 8 | The program was very difficult to get into. We were required to right a 100+ page thesis and the intro level classes were very difficult as a barrier to entry for those who weren't serious about the program. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | We had some great programs and classes that allowed us to apply our learning. The journalism program lets you get out into the community and get great hands on experience. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 7 | I took classes during the day and during the week. However, I do know that evening and weekend classes were offered, and even took some evening classes myself. |
| Academic Facilities | 7 | The building was old when I was there, but there were plenty of resources available. They are currently constructing a new state of the art building. |
| Social Life | 10 | There is a ton of school spirit at Oregon. A great sense of community, and activities and events for people with all types of interests. |
| Placement Services | 5 | I didn't really utilize these. However, there appeared to be great resources and support available. |
| Alumni Network | 5 | I'm not very much involved, so I am not a great judge. However, I did move away and would love if there was more alumni support for individuals who are out of state. |
