"I felt like I grew up so much in college. I got to see and do things that made me appreciate the wider world."

Would Recommend?yesYou don't need a specific degree in marketing to do marketing. Having a liberal arts education help create a well-rounded student, which is the most vital ingredient for success.
Program Reputation5My college isn't known for that program. It's a minor program.
Program Quality6The program staff is dedicated, but resources are scant. There are other institutions that have larger programs.
Instruction5Professors have their own priorities and pet projects. I didn't learn how it could translate to a career outside academia.
How Difficult5I don't remember having to work particularly hard. I had plenty of time to do other things.
Hands-On vs. BookishIt was a liberal arts college so we had to do labs. We had professors who were very interesting.
Schedule Flexibility5There were not a lot of weekend or evening classes. It was aimed at full time students.
Academic Facilities5The library wasn't good then. The materials have improved significantly since I graduated.
Social Life9I had great friends in college from various backgrounds. I learned a lot from my fiends. I also had a good sorority experience.
Placement Services6My career services department had good connections. They were also helpful in coaching for interviews.
Alumni Network10The school takes this seriously. They were very helpful when I was laid off.

Would Recommend?maybeI did not end up in a journalism career, but that has more to do with the economy than any fault of the school. I would recommend that students considering this career take future job opportunities into account. However, the education I received prepared me very well for the challenges of a marketing career.
Program Reputation10The standards are very high, the professors are outstanding, and graduates (for the most part) are well placed. The school seeks to continually improve the program to maintain this reputation for excellence.
Program Quality9I enjoyed my studies very much. I feel I left school with an excellent education that prepared me for the world of work very well.
Instruction9The professors in my degree program were topnotch. The instruction focused on real-world scenarios and always included the most up-to-date methods.
How Difficult9The standards were very high in my degree program. The workload was designed to be challenging, and it reflected the expectations of future employers.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe focus of my program was very much hands-on learning. There was a lot of emphasis placed on learning how professionals in the real world worked.
Schedule Flexibility5There was not a lot of flexibility, as many required courses were only offered once or twice a year. As a full-time student, this did not affect me very much.
Academic Facilities10My school has one of the best graduate libraries in the country. I feel the other resources provided were excellent as well. My particular program provided counseling and guidance every semester, so I felt fully informed of the resources available.
Social LifeI was not interested in social activities. There was plenty to do, but I did not take advantage.
Placement ServicesI did not use any job placement or career services assistance at my school.
Alumni NetworkI don't really participate in any alumni activities. I have not used any support services provided to alumni.
