Would Recommend?yesI would suggest this to friends as a place to obtain massage training, but I would make sure to tell them that the field is competitive and not to count on a job.
Program Reputation7It seems like most people I know who want to study this in this area are going to Kaplan. I have thought about going back for the associate's program.
Program Quality9I learned everything I needed to about technique at Sawyer. It has since been purchased by Kaplan College, but I have heard good things about their program as well.
Instruction10The instructors were knowledgeable and encouraging. I especially enjoyed Dr. Jeff Demko's class.
How Difficult8I felt challenged all throughout the course, but everyone graduated from the program. I would think that if it was difficult, at least a couple of people wouldn't have.
Hands-On vs. BookishThis program had excellent academic resources, great books, and great instructors. We also had clinicals where we worked hands on from day 7.
Schedule Flexibility2It was either days or nights. I attend Purdue now and the schedule is a thousand times more flexible.
Academic Facilities10Sawyer had all the equipment you could ever want and it was in good condition. I thought the facilities were also clean and pleasant.
Social Life8I had great times laughing with classmates. I haven't kept in touch though.
Placement Services7They offer extensive resume help. I can't fault them too much that it is hard to find work in this economy.
Alumni Network2I remember Susan, Stephanie, and Ahmad from class. I have not spoken to one of them since.
