"I really like this school and I sure learned a lot. However, I do feel as though the career services office should have helped me more than it did."

Would Recommend?maybeI would, but that would depend on what they want in a school. I guess I would recommend it to independent people who do not mind the lack of student support.
Program Reputation8It is one of two schools in the area that offers this program. Out of the two, I believe this one is larger and so there are more students.
Program Quality9The school had small classes so the instructors could pay more attention to each student. We had plenty of practice when they held weekly clinics.
Instruction9I felt I learned a lot in a short amount of time. I also felt the instructors I had made the experience great.
How Difficult8I thought it would just be all about rubbing people down. I did not think about the scientific aspect until I was in the program, and science is my weakest subject.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere was a mix. At first it was more book learning and I was a bit surprised by that. Toward the last quarter of the course the hands-on work increased greatly.
Schedule Flexibility2The classes were not very flexible. There was only one schedule option for the course.
Academic Facilities7They had a good number of instructors. I also felt the classroom offered enough space to learn. The clinics were well maintained.
Social Life3They do not have any extracurricular activities at the school. There were no social activities either.
Placement Services4They did not help me too much with that. I had to do a lot of research to get licensed and find jobs on my own.
Alumni Network5It was okay but I felt there was not enough follow up after graduation. I wasn't given much information about going to get licensed or anything like that.

"I was not satisfied. The school is mostly about convenience. A quick program that is hands on. Not a lot of support after. Admissions is very pushy as well. They need a change. Enrollment is very low."

Would Recommend?maybeI would recommend it those looking for a quick massage certification who want to work in a "salon" or gym setting, not those who want to work in a medical center
Program Reputation5It is an average reputation. The program is not outstanding, not award winning. It is mediocre and that is known.
Program Quality5I didn't choose Salter School for quality - I chose it for the location. It was just okay… they did not help with job placement, the instructors were mediocre.
Instruction5I wish there had been more of a PT/Rehab focus. I didn't feel adequately prepared. I had to intern at my facility first before becoming staff.
How Difficult4I found the program to be very simplistic. Little to no homework. Most was in-class and hands on.
Hands-On vs. BookishExtremely hands on. That was the good part. We spent an hour a day in class on book work, the rest was hands on instruction.
Schedule Flexibility6I was able to choose day or night class, full- or part-time. There was a decent amount of flexibility. No online options at the time I was enrolled for massage.
Academic Facilities2The facilities were bare minimum. Desks and massage tables. Posters of the body and skeletal system on the wall. No libraries. It is a small location in a bad area.
Social Life1Very little fraternizing outside of school. This is a "career" program that earns you a certificate/degree not a full on college.
Placement Services1There is little to no help from the school for job placement. We did have a bulletin board. Admission cares more about getting people to enroll and not helping graduates.
Alumni Network1Little to no help with job placement, which goes against what I was told. There's little alumni connection - I keep in touch with peers from school on my own.
