"I had an excellent experience at Bryant & Stratton and it was inexpensive. I would highly recommend this program to students in the Syracuse area looking for a good, challenging program."

Would Recommend?yesThe program was challenging and adequately prepared me for employment. I am currently working in Washington, DC, and I feel very satisfied about the knowledge and skills that I gained as a student at Bryant & Stratton.
Program Reputation5I think that there is not yet enough credit given to this college for their medical assisting program. Slowly, and as there are more and more graduates, I believe that people in the area are definitely becoming aware of the program's success, especially as more and more medical assistants flood the local Syracuse hospitals.
Program Quality6Although Bryant & Stratton is not a well-known, prestigious school, it definitely had competent professors and a challenging curriculum. I found it to be much more challenging than I anticipated, and I consider this to be evidence of it being a good program.
Instruction8I believe that the small setting at Bryant & Stratton allowed me to get the attention I wanted for this hands-on degree. I think that the professors really cared about the success of their students. The professors took time to explain things to the entire class. Furthermore, they spent a great deal of time with hands-on demonstrations and clinicals, which was a crucial component of our program.
How Difficult7I found the workload to be manageable, but it was definitely challenging. The teachers would push students to go past their limits, so when you understood something, they would push you to learn more, therefore making each course difficult, but exciting.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe hands-on experience is crucial when learning to be a medical assistant, and I thought that my college did a great job with this. We worked in clinical rotations and also practiced things on each other to learn specific procedures.
Schedule Flexibility5I am not sure about this, since I followed the typical class schedule. I believe that some of my classmates were taking evening classes, so I know that these are among the options.
Academic Facilities6It is a huge advantage that Bryant & Stratton (Syracuse campus) is located in the heart of the city, where there are medical centers surrounding the area. I did my clinicals at a nearby hospital and had amazing mentors and tutors there to guide me through my learning experience. The libraries were also a great resource for me to gather more information about my classes.
Social Life8In Syracuse, there is a large student population that is not necessarily from Bryant & Stratton. This makes it very fun, because there are always fraternity parties, and the bars in downtown Syracuse are always a fun time. I made a lot of friends while I was a student there.
Placement Services5Like the average alumni networking opportunities, I struggled for some time to get employment, and I think more could have been done within the college. I believe that more career fairs or talks would have been helpful to students who were nearly graduates.
Alumni Network5I have had some trouble connecting with alumni from Bryant & Stratton. Perhaps this is because it is still a new and up-and-coming school, but I think that more could be done to make these connections and facilitate networking.

Would Recommend?yesIt's affordable. It has flexible schedule and great professors.
Program Reputation8The Medical Assisting major was very popular at my school. It was voted the number 1 program.
Program Quality5My school prepared me for becoming a general Medical Assistant. It didn't provide me with information about specifics of this position.
Instruction8I am prepared for a Medical Assistant position. I am not that much happy about the quality of instruction.
How Difficult5I didn't have any medical background when I started this program so there were things which were challenging. I had a hard time memorizing all the medical terms.
Hands-On vs. BookishEverything depends on the subject. There were subjects where hands-on experience was more important.
Schedule Flexibility10One of the reasons I choose this school was its flexible schedule. All options are available here: weekends, weeks, day-classes, night-classes and online learning.
Academic Facilities8I was very impressed with labs, classes, library, and the learning center. They had everything I needed to learn about my field. I found it difficult to deal with student advisors because they were changing all the time.
Social Life10The school offers many social activities and sports events. Because there are many international students they even host Culture Day, when students can share knowledge and tradition about their countries with others.
Placement ServicesI didn't use job placement and career services assistance. I heard good reviews from a friend about it.
Alumni Network5I got a great amount of support but from people who weren't my supervisors. There were many things I had to deal with on my own.
