Would Recommend?yesThe career involves a passion, but it is worth it. I love teaching, and if someone else does too then I would say go for it!
Program Reputation10BGSU is known for its great program. When the school opened in 1910, the other degree they offered was in education.
Program Quality10BGSU had a great program. The professors cared about the students and we had a lot of hands on learning time.
Instruction9Most professors were very good and highly qualified. Some of them were very intelligent, but they were at the school in order to research, not teach.
How Difficult9I often had to stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning to study for my classes. The program was very intense and required a lot of effort.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere were many nights I had to spend reading my text book in order to understand what was going on in class. The classes usually gave us hands on time, especially in a science education class.
Schedule Flexibility4I always had a terrible schedule, mostly due to the fact that there were never enough of the classes I needed available in order to stay on track. I compensated by having to take summer and night classes.
Academic Facilities9There were many libraries, study spaces, and tutors available. I never had to pay for tutoring, the school sponsored it and that made it very easy on the students.
Social Life10The atmosphere was like nothing I have ever experienced. There was tons to do, and it did not matter if you participated in all or any of it. The school had many events and the town enjoyed being involved in the schools events as well.
Placement Services5We had a job fair, and no one that I know of got a job from it. I have not tried to use their services because I found my own job.
Alumni Network5I have not had to use, nor have I tried to use this service. I receive letters from them and that is about it.
