"I feel that I received my degree from a well known school in my area. I am also very happy with the end cost of the entire experience and the amount of credits other four year schools in the state will take towards a four year degree."

Would Recommend?yesI feel that this school is a great place to start and get your foot in the door for anything IT. This school has made it easy to transfer to four year schools in the state. The tuition is another reason I would recommend this school. I feel that if you are going to be in IT, the skills that you will need cannot be entirely learned in any school.
Program Reputation5This school would be considered a good place to start your schooling and transfer into a four year degree. It is known to get people at least entry level jobs.
Program Quality5The school also did not provide a lot of the newer technologies that are coming out and companies are switching to. I feel that the school could have worked with local companies to see what type of technologies and types of workers that they are looking for to help shape the courses.
Instruction5I feel that this program offered basic information and almost everything I learned that I did not know going into the program I learned on the job. There is just so many different situations that you can be put in and different technologies that companies use that schools cannot provide.
How Difficult5The workload was light and there really was no challenge. I found that at the school as long as you would show up and put some sort of effort forth, they would just about push people along to their degrees whether they truly knew the materials or not. The subject matter was dated at times and a lot of the time they did not use the books you were made to buy.
Hands-On vs. BookishI feel that some classes are very book oriented and others are more hands on. I really think it all depends on the teacher that is instructing the class. There really are no classes that have some book and some hands on, it seems that they are either one or the other.
Schedule Flexibility8The school has a very good selection of class times and learning options. You are able to learn online, in a lab setting, classroom setting, and you have the ability to be videoed into the class. I feel this is one area in which they excel.
Academic Facilities9The school is great in this area. They offer a lot of help from tutors, study groups, and scheduled access to professors. The school has great classroom space, a lot of computers in the computer lab, and great advisers.
Social Life5The school does seem to have a lot of events that they promote throughout the building. These events are more gear towards career building and job searching. There are not that many school sports or organized social events.
Placement Services3The school provides a couple of staff that will help you with your resume and job search. This school also has online job postings provided just to the school and the alumni. All in all, though, it is not very impressive.
Alumni Network3There really is no alumni or support network that I know of from the school. They either do a very poor job of promoting it or it doesn't exist. The closet thing I have seen was a facebook group.

Would Recommend?yesAs stated before, the training/schooling they provided was what someone in this field would need. Overall it is a good school and offers 4 campuses in the Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
Program Reputation7I think they would rate well, but Im not sure where they rank. The main reason I went there is because my wife went there and it was easy to get into.
Program Quality9The teachers at MATC were very knowledgeable in most of the classes and worked with you if you needed it. The school in general provides a good education and offers online classes which makes it easy when you work full time.
Instruction9The teachers at the school, as I said before, worked in the field or previously did. The teachers in the general classes were good also, and taught well.
How Difficult5It wasn't all that hard if you applied yourself and were interested in the field. The Cisco classes were probably the hardest.
Hands-On vs. BookishMost of the computer related stuff was hands on. Then gen ed classes were all book work.
Schedule Flexibility10I took a good amount of online classes as well as night classes. They offer day, night, online, weekend, and summer programs.
Academic Facilities8The library was good and provided all that I needed, as did their book store. The equipment that we worked on was current.
Social Life5I didn't participate in these things. I worked full time.
Placement Services5I didn't use their services, but others that have did well. I also hear that it is one of the better programs.
Alumni Network5I can't really answer this sine I didn't have any experience with this part of the school. I took mainly online classes.

University Of Wisconsin-Whitewater • Whitewater, WI

"I wouldn't trade my experience at the University of Whitewater for anything. It gave me the social skills, the knowledge, and a gateway for the career I am currently in."

Would Recommend?yesThis school gives you the skills necessary for your career after college life. The environment and people make attending incredibly enjoyable.
Program Reputation9The IT program and specifically the school of business, which it is a part of, is ranked very highly in the state, and many adults flock here just for this. As enrollment increases, the reputation grows as the need for more qualified staff members rises.
Program Quality8The classes for IT at the University of Whitewater were very fulfilling. They provided a lot of real world situations and information that has been useful in my career.
Instruction8Many of my teachers came into the University with real world experience which they put into their class teachings. The equipment they had also provided knowledge that has been very helpful with the server administration that I am doing now.
How Difficult8The courses provided challenges and critical thinking rather than just tests. We even used what we learned to work for a client, and this gave us a taste of what work outside of school would be like.
Hands-On vs. BookishMost of my coursework for my major was hands-on. I'm a very hands-on learner and this fit my style of learning perfectly.
Schedule Flexibility6Classes were normally very flexible, giving us enough time to get to our next classes without concern. Different colleges in the school usually had classes falling on times that were not conflicting with others.
Academic Facilities8A stocked library provided research material for the subjects that were covered in my major, but what really helped the most was the computer equipment that we were given access to work on. Many of my classes worked very closely with the server equipment, giving us the knowledge for our careers.
Social Life10The campus was perfect for meeting others and socializing. Athletics were huge at school and had a very large impact on the lives of everyone attending.
Placement Services10I used the university's career services to search for jobs before I graduated. They provided me with a lot of helpful information and reviewed my resume and cover letters before most of my applications were sent off.
Alumni Network8I constantly receive messages from the alumni program notifying me of upcoming events. They also have specific things that alumni can join and be a part of to keep school spirit alive after graduation.
