Would Recommend?yesI believe that working within the health field provides a wealth of experiences that are rewarding and motivating. The human contact alone is reward.
Program Reputation10To my knowledge, the science programs at UMM are well thought of in the education community. This is just based on hearsay.
Program Quality10The University of Minnesota, Morris, is an exceptional school. There are many stimulating professors and facilities that are up to date.
Instruction5My biology degree does not specifically apply to my work as a CNA. However, I have already learned about many diseases and this allows me to connect better with the people I care for.
How Difficult8Having studied at several universities prior to UMM, it would seem to me that their curriculum is rigorous. It requires students to think outside of the box.
Hands-On vs. BookishIn the science program, classes were split about 60-40 between lecture and labs. It is a usual mix, I would suspect.
Schedule Flexibility5Class flexibility is not a goal of the university, I suspect. They would like students to be present full time if possible to best achieve their goals.
Academic Facilities8Very good, I think. The labs are very well maintained and the staff that assists students in their studies is top notch.
Social Life6I did not participate in many student activities. Some intramural sports, which were fun. Students did have the option of many different groups and activities apart from studying, and any of the groups I did meet with were well worth the time spent.
Placement ServicesAgain, I do not know much about their career services department. This is because I have not used their services. I do know that they exist, though.
Alumni NetworkI really don't know how to assess this. I have never been much for alumni services.
