Would Recommend?yesThe criminal justice program has grown since I went to school and offers a variety of different programs (i.e., emphasis on police work, probation, corrections, law, academics). The location is ideal and the faculty is well qualified.
Program Reputation7I understand the criminal justice program is highly regarded. The program has grown since I went to school.
Program Quality8The criminal justice program had different fields of concentration. The instructors/advisors were good.
Instruction9I learned enough to start my career with confidence. The relevance of the curriculum was outstanding.
How Difficult5The academic challenge was enough to keep the program interesting. The work load was average.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe criminal justice program had a number of internships available. Most of the classes were book oriented, but you could supplement this with internships in criminal justice agencies.
Schedule Flexibility9There were evening class available. Summer classes were also available.
Academic Facilities5Professors were accessible and willing to make appointments after class hours. Computer resources were not good back in the late 1970's, but I understand they have improved with time.
Social Life1School athletics were scarcely mentioned. It was a commuter school, so social activities were few. Most people were older and worked full time.
Placement Services5Career counseling during school was adequate, but you had to seek out advice. Job placement services were not much better than searching on your own.
Alumni Network4The alumni network sends announcements, though they are irregular. I have not found the support to be of a sufficient quality with regard to assistance in job seeking.
