"The staff is extremely friendly, and I can honestly say they really want to help their students. I am missing out on the experience of staying on campus, but working has been great and I would not change it."

Would Recommend?yesThey have a great job placement service for students. Also, the staff wants to make sure you know the material in your major before you graduate.
Program Reputation6My major is one of those majors that they try to get a lot of students interested in. Not everyone can make it in the class, but they want students to see that the paralegal field is a very interesting, yet time-consuming career pathway.
Program Quality6My college is a community college, so there are not a lot of professors who are experts in the major that they teach. That leads to many questions needed to be asked, for me to receive the correct teaching that I need.
Instruction6In some of my classes, I feel that I am learning things that I can use for when I am working. Since I work in a law firm, I have a basic knowledge of a lot of the information being presented, before I go into the class.
How Difficult8The writing classes that I took were very difficult for me. Not being a strong writer hindered me from excelling in the class as much as I wanted to. Writing letters to insurance companies and clients helps me develop proper writing skills that I could use in the classroom. Learning about the constitutional laws vs. state laws is always a joy for me. Realizing how much power states have over their people can be truly shocking.
Hands-On vs. BookishSince a lot of the information being presented to us consists of laws that are written down on paper already, a lot of our work is in books. We get the hands-on part by having to do the research on the particular topic.
Schedule Flexibility8Since I work, scheduling classes can be hard, but my school advisor helped me pick classes that fit my schedule. Some of my classes are even online, which is a plus.
Academic Facilities6In our library, we have a set of American Jurisprudence Pleading and Practice Forms, a Black's Law Dictionary, and the Delaware Code. For our classes, the teacher provides study groups for each exam we take. Also, the school provides tutors for the students, for a fee.
Social Life6Going to school and working does not give me a lot of time to be social. Since it is a community college, there are not as many students in the building as there are in other schools. I am mostly focused on schoolwork and working to pay my bills.
Placement Services9One reason I picked Delaware Tech Community College was because of its job placement assistance. They make sure that once you graduate, you will have a job or two lined up for you. They make sure that all of their students are able to find jobs.
Alumni Network9We have many activities in which alumni come back and tell us how much fun they had at my school. They also share what helps them to stay focused.
Review your current or past school and help others make better career decisions.
