"My degree was affordable and allowed me many options upon graduation. There aren't that many schools that are so flexible for the non traditional student."

Would Recommend?maybeI would recommend Allen County to any non traditional student. I would not recommend it to someone wanting the "full college experience." Also, since Associate's degrees are the only ones offered, it makes it very easy to stop your education at that point instead of continuing on.
Program Reputation7In our area Allen County is known as a great school for furthering your education on a budget. The general education degree is one of the most popular degrees they offer because it allows you to transfer to almost any Bachelor's program if you are still undecided about your major.
Program Quality5I did not major in anything in the legal field. I received a degree in general education. However, the classes I took while attaining this degree did help me in my line of work.
Instruction10The value of the education was outstanding. I later took supplemental courses at other Division 1 schools and was right on track and/or ahead of the the class due to my training at Allen County.
How Difficult1I am a fast learner and took a full course load of advanced placement courses in high school. I have never been challenged by any class that I have taken during my entire school career. I do know that there were other students who did struggle. I was just lucky.
Hands-On vs. BookishMost of my courses were a great mix of hands on and book learning. I had one teacher in particular, Regina Bailey, who was able to teach using the book in a way that automatically related it to real world use.
Schedule Flexibility10Allen County is notorious for its flexibility. I was able to maintain a full course load and a full time job because of the variety of class times they offered and the ease of having to attend just once a week.
Academic Facilities1There was very little in the way of computer support or library access at the time I attended school. Classroom sizes were good, but all in all the general feel of the campus was geared toward non-traditional students.
Social Life1I don't recall a single party being thrown while I was at school and I don't think I could even tell you the school mascot's name. Allen County was set up to assist non-traditional students, most of whom aren't interested in the social aspect generally associated with attending college.
Placement Services1I received absolutely no job placement advice. They did, however, recommend and try to assist with the transfer to a four year school.
Alumni Network5I have never been interested in alumni associations. I do know that I receive several updates throughout the year from the alumni association.
