Studying Paralegal Studies (completion in 2010)

9/8/2011

"I really liked the school. Because I went as a adult I really was hoping for more of a professional school where the people there really wanted to be there and that is what I got. I have a professional career and went into the job really knowing what I was doing. I look forward to going back for my bachelor degree in Paralegal Studies."

Would Recommend?yesIf you want to be a paralegal this is a great school for it. You will be taught by people that really know the area and your adviser really cares about you and where you are going with your education and what you want out of your degree. The schools are clean and the instructors are great.
Program Reputation9As far as I know they are known to have a great paralegal program. There were a lot of students in the program and everyone really seemed on the ball and to know what they were doing.
Program Quality10I really liked the school and they really help you to get a internship in the area that you are most interested in. More important than that, most of my teachers are also lawyers, which is great because they actually know what they are teaching.
Instruction10I really liked the school. The professors were all in the legal profession in some way and they made sure that we really knew how to do the main functions of the job.
How Difficult9There was a lot of work involved and it took me many hours outside of school to study and get the homework done. I spent a lot of time at school over the two years that I took the program. I really enjoyed it, but found it to be quite a challenge.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe overall book learning for my program was great. It was a lot of work, but when I graduated and finally got a job, I felt confident that I actually knew what I was doing. I am glad for all the different types of research that was required and the instruction overall.
Schedule Flexibility10You could take classes at a lot of different times. They had day, evening, and weekend classes and they had some classes that you could take online. I found it to be very flexible and it was a good fit for me and my family.
Academic Facilities8They had great access to computers, but the library itself was rather limited. The advisers were all great but the classrooms were pretty small. They were usually filled and in the small classrooms it felt pretty cramped.
Social Life4There really were not a lot of social activities because it is more of a professional technical school and not a university. There was not really any school spirit or organized social events that I knew of or that I ever really attended that didn't have something to do with my program.
Placement Services8It took longer than I would have liked to get a job, but they were able to help me. It was and is a hard time to find a job, so considering the market, I think it went well. They did everything they could to help me find interviews network in the field.
Alumni Network7They are there for you if you have any questions, but once you graduate they don't do a whole lot for you. That is why it was so nice to have the instructors there to answer questions and to help you network even after you graduate.
