Would Recommend?noYou do not need a degree for this job. All you need is experience and contacts.
Program Reputation9A lot of people travel to San Francisco to study language and writing. There is a very famous poetry center there.
Program Quality6It was a good education, but there were no career services. I wish I had majored in something else.
InstructionMore than 5 years agoI attended school more that 5 years ago. I graduated in 2004
How Difficult8There was a lot of reading and a lot of writing for my courses. Typically, each class required us to read one book each week.
Hands-On vs. BookishMost of my courses relied heavily on book work. I can't think of a single lab class that I took.
Schedule Flexibility10Courses were available from 7 am until 10 pm.
Academic Facilities10There was a great library and an excellent poetry center. Professors were always willing to meet to discuss course work outside of class time.
Social Life1I was not involved with any of this. I was there to get an education, not to party or socialize.
Placement Services1Nobody ever spoke to me about careers. The career center had postings for minimum wage jobs, but offered no assistance with anything.
Alumni Network1The only time I have been contacted as an alumni was when someone called to ask me for money. I've never been offered any services.
