"I loved the school. It had a great, Christian-based environment. They provided a lot of hands-on work. The professors were very helpful and wanted nothing more than us to succeed."

Would Recommend?yesIt is an excellent school and offers all the courses you need to be successful in this field. It has a great environment to work in and an excellent learning environment with a lot of helpful professors to help you.
Program Reputation9The reputation of the school in my major is very good. There have been many students who went on and opened their own clinics. Many graduate schools know OBU to be a good undergraduate school and look at it as a great school to come from.
Program Quality9My school provided me with all the knowledge I needed to be successful in my career. They helped to make sure that I knew the material fully.
Instruction9The curriculum of the classes allowed me to know the different types of injuries a muscle and bone could sustain. I had a chance to study cadavers, which helped me know which muscles I could be dealing with and which treatment/exercises I could use with the patient.
How Difficult8In my program of study, it is a pretty difficult field of study. There is a lot of material to learn in college. It is a lot for only one semester. The workload can sometimes be overpowering. There is a lot of paperwork that needs to be done, but usually, plans for the treatment are already written up.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe school tends to prefer a more hands-on approach to learning. They require a lab on a cadaver and a lab on the physiology of the human body. They do mix in some book learning and research papers in order for you to get a history of the field, but they want to make sure you know exactly what you are doing, by allowing you to intern at a PT clinic.
Schedule Flexibility8OBU has many flexible class schedules. They offer evening classes for many courses. They also have online classes. They do have a problem with some core classes and major classes that are often scheduled at the same days and times in the same semester, so a student would have to plan ahead properly.
Academic Facilities8The school offered many different resources for my program in the library, as well as the school web database. The school offers the students to study upon cadavers in the laboratory for the human anatomy course.
Social Life8There is a good amount of school spirit on campus. Because it is such a small school, almost everyone knows each other. There is a mass messaging email and text system, and the recent outcomes of games, as well as a weekly event message, are sent to your email or phone.
Placement Services5The internships help the student get experience out in the field of physical therapy. The school does not really have a job placement program that helps find the student a job.
Alumni Network6The only alumni network I know of is the homecoming weekend, when alumni are invited back to campus. A lot of current alumni visit the campus often after they graduate.
