Would Recommend?yesI have been to four different colleges and Darton is by far the best. I learned and enjoyed Darton College more than any other school I attended.
Program Reputation8Darton has a good reputation in the technical fields. Darton is a University of GA member.
Program Quality9Darton is an accredited college for respiratory therapy and is very good at training and preparing students for the board exams. I enjoyed the program and the overall college atmosphere.
Instruction9I had well trained teachers who took the time to help each student better themselves. Their were many ways to get outside help from the instructors.
How Difficult8Respiratory therapy is a very difficult program because you have to learn the ventilators and how to handle each patient when they are on them. There are two board exams which are extremely difficult.
Hands-On vs. BookishDarton has online programs and classroom programs. In the clinical programs, hands on learning is a big part of the curriculum. Darton is very good at giving the student a good mixture of book and hands on learning.
Schedule Flexibility10The respiratory therapy program was very flexible. It had day and night programs. Clinicals could be done during the day, night, or on weekends.
Academic Facilities9The college has very good resources. A library is on campus. Equipment such as ventilators are available in the classroom and can be used most of the time. The Darton website had much information available to assist in the program.
Social Life7Darton had very good sports teams and as a student everything is free to attend. Darton does offer many special events, such as free movies on campus, as well as many different activities for the students
Placement Services4Darton does say they guarantee jobs in your field. I have not spoken to Darton about job placement, though. I do know there are several therapists at my hospital that graduated from Darton. I live in a town 40 miles east of Darton College.
Alumni Network5The only thing I have received from Darton since graduation is a form to fill out to rate my instructor. I did receive my diploma in the mail.
