Would Recommend?yesQuinnipiac is a top-notch business school. I feel as though they are on-par with Harvard, but at a quarter of the cost.
Program Reputation9Quinnipiac has always been considered a top-notch school. I was recently in the position to hire an assistant, and I took special note of resumes coming from Quinnipiac, because the school does turn out able, critical thinkers.
Program Quality10The instructors at the college are very qualified and rely on real-life examples to teach. Additionally, coursework is very relevant and applicable.
InstructionMore than 5 years agoI attended more than five years ago. The curriculum may have changed since then, but from what I understand, it hasn't changed much.
How Difficult9I was fortunate to have instructors that made you push the limits of your abilities. Much of the coursework was very new to me, requiring me to think in entirely different ways.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe instructors I had were used a very hands-on approach. They used real-life examples and challenged you to imagine how to relate them to actual situations.
Schedule Flexibility10I took classes at many different times, since I worked at least part time through my whole program. The classes were always available when I wanted to take them.
Academic Facilities10The library and computer-set ups were always top of the line. Advisors and other resources were always available.
Social Life5Since I worked a lot, I did not partake in many of the extracurricular activities or socials offered. I did appreciate the school's orientation program when I was a new student, though.
Placement Services5I did not use the service. I have heard that it is good, but I have no personal experience with it.
Alumni Network5I keep in contact with other alumni members, but mostly through my own efforts. I have not had to use the official school network.

Would Recommend?yesI loved UCONN. The teachers were very nice. They have a great business school and of course a great basketball team.
Program Reputation7UCONN is a well known division one school.
Program Quality8I loved going to business school and I learned so much about how to deal with problems and people.
Instruction8I didn't learn how hard it would be to get a good job.
How Difficult3I loved the classes, so they were easy to me.
Hands-On vs. BookishI had a lot of book classes, but I also had a lot of classes in which I had to do presentations.
Schedule Flexibility7I was able to get into all the classes I wanted.
Academic Facilities8
Social Life7The parties were wild all the time.
Placement Services7Most people I went to school with got a job.

"Though it might not have been the most academic experience, what I learned there sets me apart from the crowd. I learned how to cook things that most people struggle with."

Would Recommend?maybeI was lucky - I enjoy sales and happened to accidentally recommend the right bottle of wine to the right person on the right night and the owner of a wine distributor asked me into his business for an interview. But I can definitely say it was my training in the culinary world which allowed me to recommend that bottle.
Program Reputation5We are quite well known and respected in the greater Hartford area. When it comes to competition with schools like CIA and Le Cordon Bleu, they blow us away.
Program Quality7It is a very small culinary school and I just went there at the time for a lack of a better opportunity. Although we did have a short wine class section, the focus was obviously on food and cooking. This degree did help me in the pursuit of this career. I am able to explain to the chefs at restaurants why it is important to keep wine in mind when creating their menus.
Instruction8When it comes to food preparation the quality of instruction was very high. I learned about foods the world over - we spent a month on each section of the world - but like I previously said it did not truly assist me in the wine field. This was more of a career I stumbled upon.
How Difficult8The program, though very informative and fun, was extremely easy. I had just dropped out of university study and was used to the course load from a 4 year university.
Hands-On vs. BookishEveryday we were in the kitchen and everyday we prepared a new dish that we ended up eating. Everything from making pasta from scratch to preparing our own beef and chicken stocks.
Schedule Flexibility9The school offers a day program, a night program, and a weekend program. It is very easy to complete the program and find time for it.
Academic Facilities7Like previously stated, the outside of class course load was nil and if you struggled with it you had more problems going on behind the scenes. That said, the teachers were very accessible and knowledgeable and were all ex-head chefs or restaurant managers.
Social Life9I had a blast. It was only a day school so you do not get the true college experience like you might hope for, but I made some great friends there.
Placement Services8They guarantee you a job coming out of the school. I got a job as a line cook at a local French restaurant. I learned a lot there and the school set up the interview for me and everything.
Alumni Network5I can go back and take cooking classes for a greatly reduced price. But as far as a support network in my field goes, it is non existent.

Would Recommend?maybeIt's a community college. I had a promise of a job. I don't think a community college is the best for a business degree when you have to find a job. Mine was waiting for me.
Program Reputation3It is a community college, so the reputation is not high.
Program Quality5I was training in the field well before I enrolled. I did learn legal terms and better marketing skills at my college, though I do believe I would be just as capable if I had not attended college.
Instruction9I was taught things I learned in advanced high school marketing 1 and 2, from which I was earning college credit. For most of my classes in college, I had taken the college prep version in high school.
How Difficult2I took the college prep classes in high school. I was on the Dean's List every semester, because I had already known the basics of most classes.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe first semester was more book learning. The following semesters, it got more hands on, but was still mainly lectures.
Schedule Flexibility10I was able to work classes around my work. Also, I took some online classes that gave me the option to do certain tasks whenever I wanted, as long as it was before a deadline that was set. I excelled in online classes.
Academic Facilities10Advisors, tutoring, study groups, and 2 libraries were offered. Most professors had office hours and could be contacted by email.
Social Life3For me, it provided intelligent minds to talk to. That is the total extent of my social interaction there.
Placement ServicesThat is not something that I was really concerned about. I always knew once I had enough of an education and experience in the field, I would be hired for the position I have.
Alumni Network2Since it is a community college, it is not very concerned with alumni and such.

Would Recommend?yesStrong academics, great people, & great experience offered by this school are perfect for those looking to get into sales roles.
Program Reputation5The university has a strong presence, but it's more focused on agriculture & engineering.
Program Quality8Great professors & curriculum.
Instruction8Very experienced & thorough teachers who were supportive & patient too.
How Difficult7A lot of work as expected, but I was able to adjust.
Hands-On vs. Bookish
Schedule Flexibility9Very flexible. I was able to play tennis & travel.
Academic Facilities5Nothing special. I did not use computers back then, but the school did have word processors.
Social Life9Great experience academically, and I played division 1 tennis had and a steady social life.
Placement Services2Absolutely no assistance
Alumni Network3University requests funding, however the network outside if CT is extremely weak.
