"Overall I am very satisfied with Ole Miss. The drawbacks are outweighed by the advantages of going to a smaller state university that has one of the most beautiful campuses in America. The environment is very conducive to learning!"
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | I would recommend Ole Miss to any prospective student who is looking for a quality, affordable education. The opportunities are as great with Ole Miss as any of the other more expensive crowded Universities, but the experiences and memories will last forever. |
| Program Reputation | 5 | I don't think people think a lot about Poli Sci at all really. It is not a bonehead jock major like kinesiology, but it's not accounting or business either. |
| Program Quality | 6 | I was not in a business major, but I took business classes. My major was under "liberal arts" so I took a variety of courses in different areas. This works well for someone going into sales. You need to be able to talk with anyone about anything. |
| Instruction | 5 | The quality of instruction/instructors was excellent, and the course materials were good also. As for the Career prep, I would say below average there. From the Instructors "preparing" us for the workforce to the laughable career center, I would give them a D-. |
| How Difficult | 5 | Political Science was an average major in terms of difficulty. If you could write decent papers and did not mind it, you could get through it with a decent GPA. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | A good mix of hands on and book learning. Opportunities for non-traditional learning are there. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 5 | They have added many summer, intersession, and winter session class options. Online availability was improved recently, too. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | Good ratio of students to professors. The campus is top notch. The library is average but improving. |
| Social Life | 10 | Spirit, athletics, and the social scene are legendary. Ole Miss continually ranks as a top 5 party school each year. |
| Placement Services | 2 | |
| Alumni Network | 9 | Close knit Alumni. They will try to hire an alum if possible, but that only gets you so far. |

"I am very much satisfied with my school, faculty, resource availability, and flexibility. It's really a good institution."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |

| Would Recommend? | yes | I strongly recommend joining my school. You will earn lifetime knowledge, which helps at work and in life, too. |
| Program Reputation | 10 | My school was rated as one of the best in that state. It has a very good reputation over there. |
| Program Quality | 10 | I did my master's in business management and administration. I am pretty much interested in handling tough jobs and managing a team, which I learned perfectly from my studies. |
| Instruction | 10 | If you have good managerial skills and the ability to complete the tasks in a timely manner, then you will be able to complete the education, such as a master's in business administration program. |
| How Difficult | 8 | A business administration master's program is really tough. For me, finance is the one area that bothers me a lot. Some of the critical case studies took me the whole day and night to complete. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | We have a very hands-on experience, as we do several case studies, and we need to get book knowledge as well. Mostly we have a mix of it. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | We had summer classes and evening classes. We were allowed to take one online class per semester. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | We have a very big library and a computer lab. Online library is available to each and every student, even from home. |
| Social Life | 10 | My school has a big baseball team, and they won several times. We used to organize some cultural fairs, too. |
| Placement Services | 10 | We have career fairs, which engage each and every student at the campus. They took very good care about that. |
| Alumni Network | 10 | The support I got from the alumni was really good. I got help for each and every task while doing the case studies. |

| Would Recommend? | yes | I would always want others to experience Jackson State University. If I could do it all over again, I would! |
| Program Reputation | 8 | Through the media outlets that I discussed earlier, I am seeing current students that are preparing for graduation and they always have one of my former professors to thank. They seem to be very satisfied with the education and training they received. |
| Program Quality | 10 | The school of business at Jackson State University is phenomenal! The professors were always attentive and the career counselors were always very helpful. I never felt like just a person in a desk, my professors knew my name. |
| Instruction | 10 | The accounting professors at JSU in particular were very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to career preparation. I was receiving help with my resume, cover letter and recommendations from day one. |
| How Difficult | 6 | I have always had an extreme knowledge of working with numbers so accounting came pretty easy to me. However, there were some aspects of tax accounting that were not so easy. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | Our professors not only provided classroom education, but also real life lessons. There were in class seminars, mock interviews and even field trips! | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 9 | I was always able to schedule my classes on the days and at the times that I requested. I never participated in summer classes but they also offered a variety of evening classes. |
| Academic Facilities | 9 | The library at JSU had just been recently built when I started attending. There were various breakout rooms for study groups, and things were so easy to find. |
| Social Life | 10 | Social life and activities at JSU were constant and inviting. They were also very fun! |
| Placement Services | 9 | The career counselors at JSU were always finding new opportunities for graduates to apply to. They worked long hours and went the extra mile. |
| Alumni Network | 9 | JSU School of Business has a group in nearly every social media outlet in which I participate. There are always discussions and outreach through the alumni society. |
